Forum to Commence Coal Production in Cebu
Wednesday April 7, 9:02 am ET


CALGARY, Alberta, April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FORUM ENERGY CORPORATION (OTC Bulletin Board: FRUEF; Berlin and Frankfurt: FE8) announced today, as part of it`s objective of diversifying sources of energy from oil and gas production, that the company has agreed the terms to acquire The Manguerra Mining and Development Corporation of Cebu, Philippines (Manguerra), subject to completion of formal due diligence and Department of Energy approval.
Detailed Technical and Financial feasibility studies on the Manguerra licenses were conducted on behalf of The Asian Development Bank in 1998 and by The Xuzhou Coal Mining Bureau of Jiangsu Province, China in 1989. These studies indicated the Manguerra properties are capable of large-scale commercially viable coal production, with proven coal reserves of some 7 million tons and an additional probable and possible 12 million tons.

The Manguerra coal licenses cover some 1,000 Hectares and the coal is classified as a high quality steam coal (11,500 BTU/lb) with low ash content and sulphur content of 1.6%, based on core samples and coal production. Manguerra has operated as a family owned business since the late 70`s with production levels in the range 1,000 -- 2,000 tons per month. Forum is confident that production levels can be increased substantially under the new ownership and management.

In addition to this initial investment to establish Forum in Coal production, the company is studying other large coal bearing prospects in Indonesia and Philippines.

Forum akquiriert dazu die Manguerra Corpoartion auf den Phillipinen. Diese Akquisition gibt Forum eine noch stärker Präsenz dort.

Eine hervorragende Ergänzung zu den bereits bestehenden Operationen auf den Philippinen!

-- FORUM ENERGY CORPORATION (OTC-Anschlagbrett: FRUEF; Berlin und Frankfurt: FE8) verkündet heute, dass sie als Teil ihrer Zielsetzung, verschiedene Arten und Quellen von Energie neben der Öl- und Gasproduktion zu fördern, kurz davor steht, die Firma Manguerra Mining und Development Corporation von Cebu, Philippinen (Manguerra), zu erwerben.

Der Erwerb ist noch abhängig vom Vollzug gewisser Formalien und der Zustimmung der zuständigen Abteilung der Energiebehörde.
Ausführliche technische und finanzielle Durchführbarkeitsanalysen auf den Lizenzen Manguerra wurden im Namen der asiatischen Entwicklungsbank 1998 und durch das Kohlenbergbaubüro Xuzhou der Provinz Jiangsu, China 1989 erstellt.
Diese Studien zeigten, daß die Eigenschaften von Manguerra zur großräumigen kommerziell entwicklungsfähigen Kohleproduktion, mit nachgewiesenen Kohlereserven von ca. 7 Million Tonnen und von zusätzlichen wahrscheinlichen und möglichen 12 Million Tonnen gegeben sind.
Die Kohlelizenzen Manguerra erstrecken sich über ca. 1.000 Hektar und enthalten hohe Qualitätsdampfkohle (11.500 BTU/lb) mit niedrigem Aschengehalt und einem Schwefelgehalt von 1,6%.
Manguerra hat seit den späten 70er Jahren mit Produktionsniveaus in einer Menge von 1.000 -- 2.000 Tonnen pro Monat operiert.

Forum ist überzeugt, das Produktionsniveau unter neuer Führung wesentlich erhöhen zu können.
