Hier ein Index, der mir echt nicht gefällt - charttechnisch gesehen.
S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index Der Explorer Index.

Properties in Kanada.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 43.016.158 von XIO am 09.04.12 17:55:35Colorado-based Molycorp Monday announced that proven and probable reserves of rare earth minerals at its Mountain Pass facility have increased by 36%.

The updated estimate, which is based on the SEC's rigorous "Industry Guide 7" definition of proven and probable reserves, expands Molycorp's reserves to 18.4 million short tons of rare earth ore, at an ore grade of 7.98% and a cut-off grade of 5%.

"SRK now estimates that the proven and probable component of Molycorp's ore body contains 2.94 billion pounds (1.3 million metric tons) of contained rare earth oxide equivalent," Molycorp said. "This compares to the previous estimate of 2.24 billion pounds of contained REO product (1.02 million metric tons)."

Fortescue chief sees iron ore price down 25% from current levels. Says it’s a ‘good thing’
      MINING.com News | April 2, 2012

Fortescue chief executive Neville Power – who took over as CEO from billionaire founder Twiggy Forrest last year – told an Australian newspaper that a lower price for iron ore is a good thing for miners and steelmakers.

Power also predicted the price of iron ore will settle at about $110 per tonne over the next few years.

The price of iron ore is down from all time highs of $180 per tonne in September to $147 per tonne currently:

“Chinese steel production growth will be lower over the next five years at about 4 or 5 per cent,” Mr Power told The Australian at the Boao Forum for Asia in the Chinese province of Hainan yesterday. This represents a slowdown from growth rates of 7 to 8 per cent in recent years, but the base grows each year.

Shortly after taking over the helm Power said Fortescue could remain profitable at a price of $70 per tonne.

Fortescue exports the vast majority of its 60 million tonne ore per year to China and only began commercial production five years ago.

      RANDGOLD WELCOMES MALI SETTLEMENT
      Production guidance maintained
      April 10, 2012

Randgold Resources today welcomed the announcement of a political settlement brokered in Mali by its West African neighbours and said the disruptions which followed last month's military coup had not materially affected its gold production in that country.

Over the weekend the military junta announced that it had agreed to
reinstate the constitution, in terms of which the president of the
national assembly will act as head of state and oversee the appointment
of an interim prime minister to manage the country's return to
democratic rule. As part of the settlement agreement, president Amadou
Toumani Toure has formally resigned as head of state. The appointment
of the interim prime minister will be by consensus and involve civil
society and political parties. In return, Mali's ECOWAS neighbours
have lifted the sanctions they had imposed and committed to actively
support the restoration of stability in Mali.

Randgold chief executive Mark Bristow said the announced resolution of
the political crisis had strengthened the company's confidence in the
political maturity of the West African region and its ability to settle
conflict situations without external involvement. Randgold owns and
operates the Loulo/Gounkoto mine complex in Mali and also operates
Morila, a joint venture with AngloGold Ashanti."During this period these
operations continued to operate without any
material disruption and the fact that they still have sufficient
supplies of fuel and other consumables on hand is a tribute to our
partnership and in-country management philosophy. Our production
guidance for 2012 remains unchanged, although we have not completed our
assessment of the impact this situation has had on costs. We will
monitor the implementation of the political settlement by the relevant
parties, and give the market a full update when we report our first
quarter results on 3 May," he said.
