Die von der Politik vielfach ausgerufene (jetzt unbedingt/dringend zu startende) Energiewende und damit die Nachfrage nach entsprechenden Rohstoffen, sowie die ebenso als dringend/wichtig genannte ESG Priorität bei Unternehmen, ist mMn. im 2023 weitgehend ausgeblieben.

Ich bleibe hier ebenfalls investiert, weil ich die UN-News an und für sich positiv finde. Die Frage ist, erreichen wir (bereits) im Verlauf vom 2024 einen wirtschaftlichen Aufschwung, mit (erneut verstärkter) Fokussierung auf die Energiewende/ESG-Themen? (Wobei "ESG" wohl erstmal global, einheitlich, definiert werden müsste) ...Wird es bis 2025...2026 dauern? 🤔

CNQ Signs Technology License Agreement with BEIE

Highlights:
Clean TeQ Water has signed a technology licencing agreement with environmental engineering company, Beijing Enterprises Industrial Environment Technology Ltd., Co (‘BEIE’), a subsidiary of Beijing Enterprise Water Group (‘BEWG’).

Under the agreement BEIE can use Clean TeQ Water’s proprietary technology for water and wastewater treatment, solid waste treatment, repair, reclamation, or post-closure remediation of contaminated sites, including treatment of and/or prevention of groundwater contamination.

Clean TeQ Water will receive a fixed royalty prepayment of $400K in total for years 1 and 2, and from year 3 an annual 4% royalty. Clean TeQ will also provide paid technical services for design and other auxiliary services.

Clean TeQ Water is in the final stages of commissioning the Ordos BIONEX ™ project for one of BEIE’s customers, and the Company believes BEIE is well positioned to introduce Clean TeQ Water’s technologies to additional customers in the growing China market 1.

Clean TeQ Water's Demonstration Plant Ships to LithiumBank's Calgary Facility

11 Dec 2023 - Clean TeQ Water is pleased to announce that its Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) pilot plant is now in transit to LithiumBank’s Calgary facility. Once completed, the facility will have capacity to process up to 10,000 L/d of brine and yield up to 3 kg/d LCE. Commencing in early 2024, several piloting campaigns are planned as the Boardwalk Project advances into its feasibility studies phase of development. The Company also anticipates that the facility will accelerate the development of the Company’s Park Place, Estevan, South, and Kindersley properties.

Clean TeQ Water constructed the pilot plant in Australia on the behalf of Go2Lithium (G2L), and is based on G2L’s Continuous Direct Lithium Extraction (cDLE®) technology. As seen in recent testwork results, the cDLE® process utilizes an ion exchange material (sorbent) designed to selectively extract lithium from the brine while rejecting most contaminants. In the context of the Boardwalk Project, the configuration of the pilot adsorption and elution stages has been purposefully designed to maximize extraction of lithium from the brine. Similarly, the selectivity of the sorbent and elution chemistry allows strong rejection of typical impurities in the brine such as sodium, calcium and chloride. This results in a clean, lithium-rich concentrate suitable for further refining.


Clean TeQ’s cDLE® pilot plant prior to shipping from Melbourne.

At the facility in Calgary, the cDLE® process will demonstrate the cost and process advantages of using common industrial reagents such as quicklime and sulfuric acid. The operating cost benefits of this change in reagent suite will be quantified in an updated Boardwalk Project Preliminary Economic Assessment. Senior process engineers from G2L will head up the installation of the pilot and the first 100 hours of processing. G2L will continue to lend support throughout the entire piloting program which is intended to last up to 18 months following the first 100 hours of operation.

With a processing capacity of up to 10,000 L/d of brine, the Calgary facility will represent one of the largest DLE pilot plants in North America. The pilot plant represents an approximate 1:5,000 scale to the future, commercial production modules which is consistent with scale-up factors used in other hydrometallurgical processes. Within the pilot plant, sufficiently large ion exchange equipment has been installed to permit direct scale-up of these process steps to the commercial plant, accelerating the Boardwalk Project development.

During operation, the pilot plant will be targeting one of the industry’s highest lithium recoveries. This is seen as achievable for the Boardwalk project given the project’s careful staging of adsorption and elution contactors, along with the characteristics of the sorbent. Specifically, experiences from industrial ion exchange processes used for the recovery of precious (gold) and energy (uranium) metals have been leveraged in formulating the Boardwalk DLE flowsheet. This formulation included a trade-off assessment of lithium recovery and capital cost which was undertaken for the purposes of the upcoming updated PEA. As a result, the pilot plant will assess the performance of five contactor stages with results to follow in the PEA.

Süßwasser ist eine kritische Ressource im Nahen Osten. Ein Großteil des Süßwassers wird mit herkömmlichen Umkehrosmoseverfahren aus brackigem, hartem Grundwasser gewonnen. Die Herausforderung besteht darin, die geringe Wasserrückgewinnung zu verbessern, da mit dem konventionellen Verfahren in der Regel weniger als 40 % zurückgewonnen werden, während die restlichen 60 % als Abfall anfallen.

Die HIROX®-Technologie von Clean TeQ Water wurde entwickelt, um in solchen Situationen eine hohe Wasserrückgewinnung zu ermöglichen, die in der Regel über 80 % liegt, und gleichzeitig das Volumen der Abwassersole zu minimieren. Diese effizientere Nutzung des Grundwassers ist von entscheidender Bedeutung für den künftigen Bedarf der Öl- und Gasindustrie, der Landwirtschaft und der Bevölkerung, die auf Grundwasser als Trinkwasser angewiesen ist.

Beim Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)-Verfahren wird Wasser mit hoher Dichte in die Lagerstätte injiziert, um das Öl zu verdrängen und die Produktion der Bohrlöcher zu steigern. Bei der herkömmlichen Methode wird Salz gekauft, per Lkw zum Standort transportiert und mit dem behandelten Wasser gemischt, um die erforderliche Dichte zu erreichen. Ein zusätzlicher Vorteil für den Kunden besteht darin, dass HIROX® das Salz aus der Sole zurückgewinnt und somit den Bedarf an importiertem Salz ersetzt, um die gewünschte Wasserdichte für die Reinjektion zu erreichen. Auch die Umweltbilanz wird verbessert, da die Anzahl der Lkw-Fahrten, die derzeit über 10.000 Tonnen CO2e pro Jahr ausgleichen, erheblich reduziert wird. Diese Vorteile führen zu erheblichen Kosteneinsparungen bei den Betriebskosten für die Endnutzer, während gleichzeitig der ökologische Fußabdruck des Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)-Verfahrens verringert wird.
