da ich zu faul zum übersetzen bin habe ich nur eine
kurze englische Beschreibung reinkopiert.

Noven Pharmaceuticals develops transdermal and transmucosal drug delivery systems which use an adhesive patch containing medication that is administered through the skin into the blood stream over an extended period of time. Noven`s patented drug delivery systems can be adapted to deliver many different kinds of drugs. Its estrogen patches have been approved for treatment of menopause and osteoporosis in over 35 countries; products are in development to treat dental pain, motion sickness, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Marketing agreements and joint ventures with Aventis and Novartis account for nearly all the company`s sales.

Ich finde das ist eine sehr pfiffige Geschäftsidee mit
viel Potential in der Zukunft. Denn wir gehen doch alle
davon aus das in der nächsten Zeit eine Menge neuer
Medikamente auf den Markt kommen werden und für einige ist
Novens Deliverysystem bestimmt geeignet.

Mit der Performance bin ich zufrieden.
Der Chart gefällt mir.
Ein KGV von 66 läßt mich ruhig schlafen.

Aber Vorsicht! Bisher nur geringe Umsätze in Deutschland,
was sich aber sicher in der nachsten Zeit wie bei einigen
anderen Werten auch schon, schnell ändern wird.

das KGV ist nicht 66! Es handelt sich dabei um den Price-Earnings-Ratio (=KGV/Wachstumsrate).

PEG = Price Earning to Growth = KGV/Wachstumsrate und pendelt
immer um +/-1

Wir gehen ja schon immer mehr in die Grundlagenforschung zurück.
Der Titel sollte ursprünglich eine ironische Anspielung auf den
sehr guten thread von Aktienfilter sein. Ab sofort ist er ernst gemeint.

Ein PEG von 66 habe ich noch nie gesehen.
Zumindest wäre der Wert dann leicht überbewertet und keiner
Empfehlung wert.

hab eben noch mal auf den Link geklickt, sorry, natürlich hat Du recht. Ich hatte gestern abend gerade an den Price-Earnings-Growth-Ratio gedacht, als ich in der Schnelle auf den Link geklickt habe. Ich sah die 66, dachte "Mensch, ist das hoch", so was sieht man selten, schon war die Verwechselung perfekt.

Die Aktie war mir schon mal aufgefallen, weil Noven zu den Firmen gehört, die ihre Forschung durch bereits zugelassene Produkte (Estrogen) finanzieren können. Noven schreibt schwarze Zahlen.

NOVN auf Alltime-High mit trendbestätigender Formation (rising three methods) im Candlestick-Chart. Ich denke da sollte langfristig und kurzfristig sowieso einiges Potential drinsitzen.

Es ist zum Heulen: mein Kaufauftrag aus dem April für NOVN zu 6,5 $ läuft an der NASDAQ noch bis zum Jahresende, und die 5 Mark für die Streichung spar ich mir, da dieser Auftrag aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach nicht mehr ausgeführt wird. Da müßte NOVN schon in größere Schwierigkeiten kommen. Wegen eines viertel oder halben Dollars bis zu meinem Limit habe ich sie nicht bekommen, und jetzt wären sie das 7-fache wert. Allerdings hätte ich sie höchstwahrscheinlich bei 30 $ zum größten Teil verkauft, das wäre ungefähr mein Kursziel gewesen. Einsteigen werde ich jedenfalls auf dem jetzigen Niveau nicht mehr. Wieder eine knapp verpaßte Chance.

ich hoffe ja nicht, dass der heutige Trend (-8,5%) beständig ist.
Kleinlaut ist schon ein sehr nützlicher Name wenn man sich auf Candlesticks verläßt!
Aber Scherz beiseite, langfristig ist sicher noch Potential da.

Noven warns of lower 2001 profits

LOS ANGELES, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Noven Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NasdaqNM:NOVN - news), a maker of patches that deliver drugs through skin, announced on Thursday slightly lower second-quarter profits and warned that its full-year results will not meet expectations due to a shortfall in international product orders.

Noven, based in Miami, reported net income of $3.2 million, or 14 cents a diluted share, for the second quarter of 2001, compared with $3.5 million, or 15 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter. Revenues rose to $12.6 million from $10.5 million for the same quarter in 2000.

Wall Street analysts on average had expected Noven to earn 14 cents a share in the latest quarter.

Noven said the second half of the year would present a challenge because it had not received certain expected product orders from Novartis AG that are important to the continued growth of its international business.

Noven said it now expects revenues for 2001 to be modestly higher than the $42.9 million reported last year. Pretax income should increase 25-35 percent over the $12.0 million reported for 2000, it said, which at assumed tax rates would yield net earnings per share of 40-45 cents. The current First Call estimate for the company`s 2001 EPS is 66 cents.

The company`s shares, which fell nearly 11 percent to close at $33.32 on Nasdaq before the earnings announcement, were down another 28 percent at $24.12 in after hours trading.

Novartis licenses Noven`s principal international products, the estrogen patches Estalis and Estradot, in most markets outside the United States.

``We believe that the failure to order at expected levels reflects Novartis Pharma`s strategies relating to regulatory approvals and launch timing, not a lack of commitment to commercializing Noven`s products,`` Noven Chief Executive Robert Strauss said in a statement.

Separately on Thursday, Noven and Novartis announced that they have entered into an agreement to develop line extensions and enhancements to the Combipatch/Estalis line of hormone replacement therapy patches.
