      Hey Captain,

Der Chart ist Vergangenheit. Jetzt zählen die Zukunfzsaussichten. Die Aktie ist eingebrochen wegen der Gewinnwarnung vor 2 Jahren. Jetzut hat die Situation erheblich gebessert.

Grace expects profit growth to continue in Q4

NEW YORK, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Specialty chemical and catalyst producer W.R. Grace & Co. <GRA.N> expects the profit and sales growth of the first nine months of 2000 to continue during the fourth quarter, Chief Executive Officer Paul Norris told a New York investors` conference Tuesday.

"Despite the negative impacts of higher energy and petroleum-based raw materials costs as well as weak European currencies, we have delivered year-to-date revenue growth of 5 percent and an increase in operating earnings of 13 percent," he pointed out.

He went on to say "We are continuing to target revenue growth of 5-7 percent and earnings growth of 12-15 percent for the year 2000.

"With respect to 2001, we are targeting revenue growth of 5-7 percent and driving productivity programs to offset the expected substantial year-over-year increases in the cost of energy and raw materials," Norris said.

A spokesman said the company has not made a profit projection for next year.

Grace shares dropped Oct. 5, along with the stocks of others with potential asbestos liabilities, when Owens Corning <OWC.N> sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from asbestos litigation. On Oct. 9, the Grace shares reached an all-time low of $3-1/8. In early trading Tuesday, they were off 1/16 at $3-7/8.
