(JNIP), announced that it has received additional funding from its investment bankers and has reached terms for a credit line as well as accounts receivable financing for its subsidiary New Wave Communication, Inc. The financing was approved by the bankruptcy court in New Wave’s Chapter 11 proceeding. House OKs $819B stimulus bill in win for Obama...This could be huge for JNIP

Democrats Propose $6 Billion for Broadband
Amy Schatz reports on the economic stimulus and tech policy.


The $825 billion proposal from the incoming Obama administration and House Democrats includes $6 billion to improve the U.S. broadband infrastructure, which is lacking in many rural and mountainous areas, particularly in the West.

There aren’t a lot of details yet on how that $6 billion would be given out, but it doesn’t seem to encompass tax breaks phone and cable companies were lobbying for. The wireless industry was cheering Thursday morning, however, since they had been lobbying heavily to make sure they were included in any broadband stimulus program.

A summary of the spending released by House Democrats calls for the money to be used on “broadband and wireless grants.”

On Wednesday, an Obama adviser who’s been in charge of the broadband stimulus package indicated that industry and tech expectations about the broadband part of the package had gotten a bit out of control.

“The broadband piece of the Obama agenda is not going to be done solely in the economic recovery package,” said Blair Levin, a telecom analyst and former FCC chief of staff who’s been advising the campaign on how to structure its broadband plan. He was speaking at a tech conference on Capitol Hill.

Levin said the incoming administration was looking at handing out the broadband grants through “existing structures,” so they can get the money out into communities quickly.

There are just a few existing government programs that have given out broadband grants in the past, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s tiny Rural Development Broadband Loan and Loan Guarantee Program.

The money could also flow through the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration or through a federal subsidy program run by the FCC, where Obama tech adviser, Julius Genachowski, is expected to be named chairman.

“This money should be tied to a single agency that can uphold clear principles of public service and enforce concrete administrative accountability,” said Ben Scott, policy director of Free Press, a public interest group which had called for upwards of $44 billion to be spent to expand broadband availability.

“While $6 billion is not as much as we had hoped for, it is a substantial investment,” Scott said.

ist auch schwer wenn denn kurs denn ganzen tag anschaut und passiert nichts oder geht sogar fast 40% runter da könnte mann fast hin schmeißen aber so ist es bei otc hop oder top

Ja bin den ganzen Tag auf Achse, allerdings fahre ich jetzt Bus seit 7 Jahren.
LKW war mir zu stressig.
Werde aber auch das jetzt aufgeben, wir haben geteilten Dienst und sind bis zu 14 Stunden unterwegs, das kann es nicht sein.
