AspenBio Pharma, Inc. announced an initial preliminary data from its Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clinical trial for AppyScore, a first blood based test as an aid in the diagnosis of human appendicitis and an update on planned steps for pursuing FDA market authorization in the U.S. Although data analysis is ongoing, the preliminary results demonstrate the relationship between AppyScore and the risk of pathologically proven appendicitis in patients with acute abdominal pain. The Company's ongoing data analysis also aims to determine the optimal clinical use of the test in conjunction with other standard diagnostic tests. These preliminary results indicate that the negative predictive value using the previously suggested optimal threshold (cut point) of AppyScore at 20 is 83% as compared to 96% that was observed in the earlier pilot study. However, upon further analysis utilizing a lower cut point a significantly higher negative predictive value is observed. In particular when used in combination with a normal white blood count a negative predictive value of 98% was achieved using an AppyScore cut point of 15.

AspenBio Pharma, Inc. announced the enrollment level in the ongoing FDA 510(k) clinical trial for AppyScore, the world's first blood-based diagnostic test for human appendicitis exceeds 700 patients. As of November 17, 2008, there were 701 patients enrolled in the ongoing clinical trial in which 800 patient enrollments will complete the study. Based upon current ongoing weekly enrollment rates, the company anticipates achieving the goal of 800 patient enrollments within weeks. The study enrollment is focused on patients arriving at hospital emergency rooms with a primary complaint of abdominal pain. Qualified patients are further narrowed with criteria related to medical history and duration and location of abdominal pain. Patient test results from the independent multicenter study are completely blind. Therefore, until the trial is completed and data is unlocked, information concerning trial results will remain unknown to all parties, including AspenBio, its independent Contract Research Organization (CRO) and the participating hospitals.

dann natürlich rebound zu alten kursen up to 5$...

its over now I am going to listen to the whole thing when i get a chance.
What I caught was that they were bringing in a few more data consultants. The data that they produce may different than the actual data that they provide to the FDA. the data that they provide to the FDA, will be what they need to submit for their intended purposes. So the results that everyone drastically overreacted to, may still be over par of what is required by the FDA. IMO

Glaxo Chief Executive Officer Andrew Witty.
“If one big company makes a move, I can absolutely imagine that triggering off a series of moves,” Witty said in a Jan. 8 interview. “The industry has historically, habitually demonstrated its inability to sit on its hands when someone moves. The question is whether somebody big is going to finally pull the trigger.”

What if this small sample on the test was reported in a bad light.
I am sure they will talk next week and explaing that THE TEST IS 98% ACCURATE WHEN THE WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT IS IN LINE.
Go ahead and submit the 510k. Bingo, you get approval and a $20+ stock. All the movement should start happening right after 2/18 when Mr. Faulkner fires up the investors.
