NEW YORK, Feb 2 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Wednesday, as Wall Street waited
to hear in the afternoon whether the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates to moderate the booming
economic expansion.

Dick Stein, the vice president and chief technical analyst at the Boca Raton-based Noble International
Investments said he expected a slow trading day ahead of the Fed`s decision.

"We`ve come this close, let it be made," Stein said of the much-anticipated announcement. "I`d rather be
on the sidelines and I`ll catch the next school of fish that come by."

The Federal Reserve`s policy-setting committee was widely expected on Wednesday afternoon to raise
the short-term federal funds rate by 25 basis points to 5.75 percent. Less certain is whether it will lean
toward repeating the hike at the next meeting, on March 21.

"It`s not so much what they do, but what they say," said Bill Meehan, the chief market analyst at Cantor
Fitzgerald in Darien, Conn.

The announcement from the Federal Open Market Committee was expected at 2:15 p.m. EST (1915
GMT).

Hallo Quake3Arena,
ich habe keinen optionsschein (call) gefunden. Denke aber, dass (FED Sitzung verläuft positiv) eine gute Performance in Santa Cruz steckt. Werde mir mal sämtliche News reinziehen und morgen entscheiden ob ich investiere.
Sollte ich noch einen interessanten OS (Linux mit e-Commerce OS) finden, werde ich es posten.

Es macht richtig Spass zu schauen, wie Santa Cruz Prozent um Prozent zulegt (und das fast im Minutentakt)...

Ich bin vor ein paar Tagen leider etwas zu früh eingestiegen (knapp unter 22) weil ich dachte , die Trendwende wäre schon gekommen, ein Tag später war ich schon mit 10% im plus, doch dann ging es nocheinmal abwärts (wohl wegen den Microsoft-Gerüchten, die hier umherschwirrten)..

Jetzt denke ich gehts richtig los. Volumen zieht heftig an und der Kurs natürlich auch. Dieses top-geführte Unternehmen hat schon ein unverschämt niedriges KGV (um die 35), wer jetzt nicht zugreift, das Potential nach unten ist begrenzt.. (Internet-Wert mit einstelligem KGV ????)

Und neue ,gute News kommen auch alle paar Tage hier reingeflattert, die wurden leider in letzter Woche nicht sehr beachtet, wg oben genanntem Grund...

na mata hari,

weil ein Aktienpaket von 4,5 Mio. Stück in diesem Markt weder an einem Tag, noch in einer Woche platziert ist.

Als das bei SAP vor ein paar Jahren passiert ist (Anteilseigner haben Anteile veräußert) hat das mehr als 3 Monate gedauert.

C´est la vie !

Als Kleinaktionär mußt du´s halt mal aushalten bis sich der Gestank verzieht, wenn ein Großer geschissen hat.

Kannst erfahrungsgemäß noch ein Weilchen warten, bis das Paket platziert ist.

Aber ich versprech dir´s zum Nikolaustag oder zu Weihnachten ( natürlich 2000 ), vielleicht sogar schon, wenn der Osterhase übers Feld hoppelt, gibt´s Bescherung.

Habe über meine Bank direkt an der CBOE Optionen (Calls) gekauft.
Ein SCOC Call Juli Basis 20 kostet ca. 6 $, d.h. die Aktie muß am 3. Freitag im Juli über 20$ stehen. Die Hebelwirkung bei einem Anstieg ist also enorm, nur vorsicht: Steht der Kurs im Juli unter 20$ ist alles verloren !!!

Sorry, ich meine natürlich, der Kurs muß am 3. Freitag im Juli über 26 $ (!!) stehen, damit man Gewinn macht. Zwischen 20 und 26 $ macht man Verlust und unter 20 $ sogar Totalverlust.
