      LHS ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL ENHANCEMENTS
FOR BSCS VERSION 5.3 AT GSM WORLD CONGRESS 2000
Extends Internet Billing Features, adds GPRS Functionality,
      Fulfills EURO Compliance

ATLANTA/FRANKFURT/CANNES, February 2, 2000 ¾ LHS Group Inc. (NASDAQ: LHSG, Neuer Markt: LHI), today announced additional enhancements to BSCS 5.3 at the 2000 GSM World Congress conference and trade show in Cannes, France. This enhanced version extends Internet billing features, adds GPRS functionality and fulfills EURO compliance.

BSCS 5.3 provides dedicated features that explicitly support the Internet market and extend billing features for Internet services, allowing operators to include those services in customers’ bills. Internet features include customer administration screens for services such as e-mail and dial-up and support of Internet specific business requirements (e.g., more than one e-mail address per contract). In addition this enhanced version enables third-party vendor integration for IP mediation using the standard interfaces to BSCS, as well as provisioning and call collection.

The GPRS functionality of 5.3 provides operators with flexible service parameters to support the configuration and provisioning of complex Internet services with complex content. Operators can use the new rating functionality to rate, based on duration and/or volume and pre-rated value added service records.

BSCS 5.3 covers all functions necessary to fulfill Euro compliance, including push button conversion of current national currency to Euro, dual currency representation on the bill or contract, and tariff models with a choice of currencies. Also, BSCS 5.3 complies with European Union (EU) conversion rules for the Euro and mandatory requirements from member governments and the EU.

"These new enhancements allow us to meet our customers’ IP needs. Combined with the original BSCS functionality, they are yet another step in our drive to provide our customers with leading edge customer care and billing solutions," commented Ruediger Hellmich, LHS executive vice president and Chief Business Units Officer. "We will continue to offer innovative designs and applications to increase marketing strength for our customers worldwide."

LHS ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF TARGYS TOOLKIT, SERVER
      AND BSCS CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS

ATLANTA/FRANKFURT/CANNES, February 2, 2000 ¾ LHS Group Inc. (NASDAQ: LHSG/ Neuer Markt: LHI) today announced the availability of the Targys Toolkit and Customer Management Server, as well as two new BSCS Customer Management applications -- Customer Inquiry and Rapid Activation -- developed using the Targys three-tiered component architecture employing Java and CORBA.

The Targys Toolkit and Customer Management Server enable the development of applications based on Targys. The Targys architecture provides key benefits by streamlining delivery of customer care applications targeted to specific operator business requirements, as well as scaling to support thousands of users and millions of subscribers. In addition, any Targys-based application can be integrated with software that supports CORBA 2 standards.

Operators can use the Targys Toolkit and Customer Management Server to develop cutting edge applications to meet demanding customer and market needs. At the GSM World Congress in Cannes, LHS is demonstrating one such application. The application was developed using the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Toolkit provided by Nokia, the Targys Toolkit and Targys Customer Management Server. This sample application enables customers to look up account balances and change address information using the web access provided by their Nokia handsets.

The Customer Inquiry application, targeted at users answering Hot Line and Help Desk calls, increases call center efficiency through its streamlined workflow. Customer service representatives have roaming, product and pricing information at their fingertips so that they can inform, educate and cross-sell customers. Rapid access to customer data enables users to quickly address customer call, payment and billing questions.

The Rapid Activation application reduces order processing to a few simple steps, using a minimal number of screens, to reduce time spent entering orders. The application supports all aspects of order entry workflow, ensuring that all necessary information is obtained and speeding new customer activation.

"We are excited to see the power and application potential of the Targys architecture becoming a reality with the release of these applications," stated Stefan Sieber, LHS executive vice president and Chief Divisional Officer. "What is more, this power is now in the hands of the operators themselves, who can use the Targys Toolkit and Customer Management Server to develop applications specific to their customer needs and the demands of a market driven by the introduction of new services."
