Second Quarter Activities Report
REWARD PROJECT
(GRANGE RESOURCES GROUP 31.15%
THALANGA COPPER MINES PTY LTD 68.85%)
During the quarter the small cut-back of the east wall of the Reward
pit was completed allowing access to a zone containing approximately
30,000 tonnes of ore grading 4.9% copper. Mining of this ore was
carried out during November and December.
Processing of this batch of ore was undertaken between the 6th and
24th of January 2000 and resulted in the production of approximately
4000 tonnes of copper concentrate. Final reconciliations are yet to
be completed.
To date over 580,000 tonnes of ore grading over 9% copper have been
produced from the Reward open pit mine since production commenced in
July 1998.
No Reward copper ore was milled during the December quarter. A parcel
of stockpiled zinc ore was processed during November.
Summaries of production statistics for the Reward project for the
December quarter and project to date are presented in Table 3
(copper) and Table 4 (zinc).

EXPLORATION
(GRANGE RESOURCES GROUP 30%
THALANGA COPPER MINES PTY LTD 70%)
During the quarter further exploration drilling was undertaken on the
Reward Deeps and Conviction massive sulphide deposits and a revised
resource estimation was prepared for North Reward.
At Reward Deeps a further seven holes were drilled from the base of
the Highway pit to test the massive sulphide body. Results are
encouraging with six of the holes intersecting copper mineralisation,
the most significant being 39m @ 8.06% from 150m down hole in
REW0915; 32m @ 6.83% Cu from 131m down hole in REW0914 and 25m @
6.80% Co from 154m down hole in REW0911. The results of the drilling
are summarised in Table 5. Further drilling to determine the extent
and grade of the Reward Deeps mineralisation is planned.

The North Reward block model was updated during the quarter to
incorporate all the data from drilling carried out during the
previous six months. Following completion of modelling a revised
resource estimate was prepared.
At the cut-off grade of 2% copper the resource was estimated to be
460,000 tonnes at 3.8% Cu which is over 20% greater than the
previously estimated resource of 380,000 tonnes at 3.7% Cu.

FRESHWATER
(HOMESTAKE MINING COMPANY ("HOMESTAKE") 100%, GRANGE PRODUCTION
ROYALTY)
Homestake has provided the following information on activities
relating to the Freshwater project during the December quarter.
OPERATIONS
Mining was carried out on the Rainbow, Cutthroat, and Brook pits
within the Trout project area. The majority of the mined ore was
milled during November and December.
Mining of the Trout ore is scheduled for completion by the middle of
January 2000. Milling of the Trout are will also be completed during
January 2000, with a stockpile of mineralised waste remaining for
possible future milling.
Milling of remaining Perch ore was completed in October 1999. Some
Perch mineralised waste material was treated in November, and
rcconciled favourably against the stockpile grade.
Production statistics are summarised in Table 7.

EXPLORATION
A gravity survey carried out over the southern part of the Freshwater
leases during September located a gravity high south of the Perch
pit. The gravity high has been modelled and interpreted as a
mafic/ultramafic sequence located under granite.
Three RC holes aggregating 791 metres have been drilled to test the
zone. All three holes intersected an over thrust granite sequence
with interstitial mafics and one hole intersected an underlying
greenstone sequence from log metres down hole to the end of the hole
at 300 metres. Gold and associated aersenic mineralisation was
intercepted within the greenstone, similar in nature to the lode
mineralisation at Plutonic East (best intercept 1m @ 4.6g/t Au from
249m downhole).
One diamond drill hole to a depth of 601 metres was completed at East
Perch to test the movement of a fault parallel to the MMR fault, east
of the Perch pit. Several narrow mineralised zones were encountered
typical in nature of lodes at the nearby Plutonic East prospect.
TWIN RIVERS JOINT VENTURE (Homestake earning 60%)
Under the terms of the Twin Rivers Joint Venture, Homestake can earn
a 60% interest in the Wembley project located in the Peak Hill region
of Western Australia.
Homestake has advised that no field activities were carried out on
the project during the quarter.
ABERCROMBY WELL (Grange 10% free carried)
The Abercromby Well mining lease is located approximately 30km south
of Wiluna in the Wiluna-Leonora greenstone belt, Outokumpu Mining
Australia Pty Ltd ("Outokurmpu") own a 90% interest in the tenement
with Grange holding a 10% free carried interest up to a decision to
mine or a total expenditure of $2 million, whichever occurs first.
Outokumpu and Grange have entered into an agreement with Acclaim
Uranium NL which allows Acclaim to gain access to and explore the
portion of the Centipede calcrete uranium deposit (referred to as
the Millipede deposit) that occurs on M53/336.
Acclaim has advised that no work was carried out on the project
during the June quarter.
