Former Digital Domain Executive Focused on Launch of Online Filmed Entertainment Sales
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 2000--internetstudios.com Inc. (OTCBB:ISTS - news) today announced the appointment of Dr. Steven J. Fredericks to the positions of president and chief financial officer.

An entertainment-industry veteran, Fredericks, 53, most recently served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Digital Domain Inc., one of the world`s leading visual-effects studios, with numerous Academy Awards and nominations to its credit.

Earlier, he held a variety of financial positions with International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM - news) both domestically and overseas, with a particular focus on entertainment and media. During his tenure with IBM, he also served as chief financial officer for the company`s internal interactive new media business, Multimedia Publishing Studio.

Prior to joining IBM, Fredericks was the chairman of the history and philosophy department of the Graduate School of Education at Bank Street College. He also served as the program director of the Venezuelan Education Project, managing a team of 12 educators in the development of the state university system for Venezuela.

In addition to serving as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, his academic and business career includes numerous appointments and keynote addresses: the IBM Golden Circle awards; the Ivy League Club of Los Angeles; the Tel Aviv International Film Festival; the New York University Festival in Florence, Italy; and the International Symposium of Entertainment and Media in Wuxi, China.

He was appointed to serve as a consultative professor at Shanghai University, and currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Southern California Institute of Architecture; he has also served as a policy analysis consultant to St. John`s University in New York, senior finance committee member of the board of trustees of the American School of Paris, assistant instructor in the Graduate School of Indiana University, research consultant at Harvard University, and an elementary-school teacher in the South Bronx, New York.

He is the author of several articles on educational policy and the author of a college textbook on statistics.

August Entertainment has contracted a five-year licensing agreement with Pinema Productions, a Turkish-based distributor, for the TV rights to ``True Romance,`` a film directed by Tony Scott. InternetStudios.com was paid a transaction fee for the sale of these rights through a working test of its online film site.
