Unter dem im folgenden Bericht skizzierten Aussichten, schlägt Geely sich meiner Meinung nach dann gar nicht so schlecht...die nächsten drei Monate werden es aber zeigen ...

Peking – Der weltgrößte Automarkt China wächst nach einer Prognose des dortigen Branchenverbandes in diesem Jahr nicht einmal halb so stark wie bislang angenommen. Die Absatz von Autos und Nutzfahrzeugen werde nur um drei Prozent zulegen, sagte der Verband der Automobil-Hersteller CAAM am Freitag in Peking voraus. Im Januar war er noch von einem Plus von sieben Prozent auf 25,1 Millionen Fahrzeuge die Rede. 2014 hatte es zu einem Zuwachs von 6,9 Prozent gereicht.

"Der Aktienmarkt beeinträchtigt den Autoverkauf" sagte CAAM-Chef Dong Yang angesichts des jüngsten Börsen-Crashs. "Es kommen derzeit 20 bis 30 Prozent weniger Kunden in die Autohäuser", ergänzte ein Autohändler. "Die Dinge sehen ziemlich düster aus."

Der Absatz stieg im ersten Halbjahr bereits so langsam wie seit mindestens sechs Jahren nicht mehr. Ein Grund dafür ist die schwächere Konjunktur in der nach den USA zweitgrößten Volkswirtschaft der Welt. Diese dürfte 2015 so langsam wachsen wie seit einem Vierteljahrhundert nicht mehr, wie die Regierung erwartet. Die härtere Bekämpfung von Korruption sorgt dafür, dass weniger teure Autos verkauft werden: Mit einem dicken neuen Wagen will keiner Argwohn auf sich ziehen.

Von den deutschen Herstellern setzt vor allem Volkswagen stark auf China. Europas größter Autobauer hat dort in den vergangenen Jahren viele Fabriken hochgezogen und schlägt mehr als ein Drittel seiner Fahrzeuge in der Volksrepublik los. (Reuters, 10.7.2015)"

Servus Geelianer ,

bin mal gespannt, wie die chin. Regierung das ganze umsetzten will. Die Gefahr besteht, dass evtl. der Eindruck entsteht, dass man ihr auf der Nase herumtanzt, denn ich persönlich glaube, dass die Drahtzieher gar nicht alles aus China kommen....vielleicht wird ja bewusst an einer gewissen Destabilisierung von China gearbeitet.....widersprechen tut meiner "Theorie" die Tatsache, dass wenn China z. Z. einen Schnupfen kriegt, der Rest der Welt mit einer Grippe zu kämpfen hat ....

Hat jemand zu dem folgenden Punkt mehr Kenntnisse??? Finde dazu nichts weiter im Netz und will deswegen kein Abo eingehen.....

@ellexi: Najo, irgendwie sehen doch alle SUVs heutzutage "gleich" aus ...allerdings finde ich Volvo da als eine rühmliche Ausnahme...ich mag das schwedische unauffällige Design...bei vielen anderen Herstellern ist mir zuviel BlingBling drin ....

King & Queen of Belgium Visit Geely University during Official State Visit

23June 2015 – Beijing –On June 23, 2015, Geely Holding Group and Chairman LiShufu had the honour of welcoming H.M. King Philippe and H.M. Queen Mathilde of Belgium on a visit to Geely University in Beijing. The King and Queen’s stopover was part of an official state visit to China to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Belgian and Sino-EU diplomatic relations and was the first ever visit of a foreign state leader to aprivately-funded university in China.


On a tour of the campus in the company of Chairman Li, the royal couple spoke of how impressed they were by Geely University students’ work, which included everything from paintings and calligraphy to films and single-seater race car prototypes. They also met Volvo Cars China’s three Belgian executives: general manager of the firm’s Daqingplant, Benoit Demeunyck; general manager of the Chengdu plant, Luc Semeese; and vice president of marketing, Sven De Smet. The King and Queen ended the tour by planting a Tree of Friendship with Chairman Li in front of the Geely University Library as a symbol of the continued strong relations between Belgium and China.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were returning the visit to Belgium of Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan in April 2014. Mirroring the royal couple’s visit to Geely University this year, President Xi and the First Lady had stopped off at Volvo Cars’ Ghent plant, where they witnessed the unveiling of the 30,000th Volvo vehicle to be exported to China.

Das Design erinnert mich etwas an den Volvo XC60 der ja in ein bis zwei Jahren einen Nachfolger bekommen soll. Gut möglich das man hier auf der alten Volvo Platform des XC60 den Wagen gebaut hat. Die alte Volvo XC90 Platform findet meines Wissens ja auch im GX9 von Geely Verwendung.

SPY PICS: Mystery SUV revealed as Geely Emgrand NL-3

Small Chinese SUV incorporates styling details from around the globe
Update, July 9: The SUV that is the subject of this story has been identified as the Geely Emgrand NL-3, courtesy of reader 'smarta'.

Clearer pics were published last month by CarNewsChina.com, which reports the small SUV will be launched in its home market late this year. It's anticipated to be offered with a choice of three engines: naturally-aspirated 1.8 and 2.4-litre units, plus a 1.8-litre turbo. The disguise doesn't necessarily mean the NL-3 is set to be introduced to the Aussie market.

Geely owns DSI, the company that builds transmissions in Albury and formerly, as BTR and Borg-Warner, built automatic transmissions for the Ford Falcon. It's likely the NL-3 is here for transmission calibration ahead of its launch in China. It's not the first time a left-hand drive Geely has been spotted in Melbourne while undergoing transmission calibration.

These two images snapped yesterday by motoring.com.au show a small SUV prototype caught up in Melbourne traffic. In keeping with the standard protocol for pre-production cars, it has been clad in camo and de-badged. And we’ve got no idea what it is...

Based on its short overhang, and the scale lent by the N16 Pulsar sedan next to it, the SUV looks to be a five-seater – possibly in the same sort of league as a Nissan Qashqai. The tail lights, which wrap around the quarter panels but are shrouded at the corners on the body sides broadly resemble the Qashqai's, but are markedly different in detail, although one shouldn't draw too many conclusions from the clusters, which are blacked out with tape at the corners and on the tailgate.

Plenty about the SUV hints at Toyota too. The chrome garnish between the tail lights, the wrap-around glass in the tailgate and the rising beltline in the rear quarter panels all point to the new Fortuner, which is yet to be officially revealed. But the Fortuner’s detailing is more aggressive and the new Toyota is a larger car than this one. It will seat seven.

The concave tailgate is a parallel with Jeep's Cherokee and the Subaru Tribeca. There's a centre fog light in the rear bumper cover, which points to the SUV being designed for European markets. But the gap between tyres and wheel arches – plus the vehicle's ride height – indicates this is not a crossover SUV; its home market is one that demands a bit more off-road ability than something like a Honda CR-V can muster.

Furthermore, crossover SUVs that are popular in Europe and North America feature thick, raked D pillars in a hatchback style. This vehicle is proportioned more like a wagon. That and the Outlander-like sculpture lines along the flanks – and all the other styling cues besides – send a strong message to consumers that this vehicle can go off-road to some degree.

Given the grab-bag of styling details from different brands for this SUV, we reckon it's from China or India, but so far the usual suspects don't appear to have anything like this in the works.
