G6 has also filed a non-provisional utility patent application regarding an antiviral graphene oxide air filtration device. Graphene Enrichment – Entitled “Method For Preparation And Separation Of Atomic Layer Thickness Platelets From Graphite Or Other Layered Materials”, this patent describes a method that allows the separation of graphene nanoplatelets into fractions based on their thickness. The quality and price for graphene nanoplatelets are determined by their thickness and lateral size. Some of the methods of making graphene nanoplatelets produce platelets with a broad distribution of thickness and lateral size. The method described in the Company’s invention allows for the enrichment of graphene material by separating platelets based on their size and thickness. This method can also be used in conjunction with low-cost and low-efficacy methods of splitting graphite into platelets to produce high quality graphene material.
Water-Soluble Thermoplastic Polymers – Entitled “Thermoplastic Composites Comprising Water-Soluble PEO Graft Polymers Useful For 3-Dimensional Additive Manufacturing”, this patent describes the formulation of a water-soluble 3D printing material for the fused deposition modeling (“FDM”) method of 3D printing. Water-soluble FDM material is routinely used as a sacrificial material in 3D printing. There is a well-known issue with FDM 3D printing – it has the problem of fabricating free-hanging, overhang and helical geometries. The most common method to overcome this issue is to use two materials simultaneously – structural and soluble – with the soluble material being removed at the last step. Usually, PolyVinyl Alcohol (“PVA”) is used as the soluble material, however, PVA does not completely dissolve in water. At best, it becomes gooey and is still difficult to remove. This is a serious limitation for fabricating small channels, for example. The Company believes its formulation is superior as it completely dissolves in water within minutes, thereby creating a non-viscous solution, which is expected to result in one of the best commercial materials of its kind on the market.
Additionally, the Company has filed a non-provisional utility patent application entitled “Antiviral Graphene Oxide Air Filtration Device And Associated Methods”. G6’s invention is a method to utilize the scientifically-proven antimicrobial properties of graphene oxide for air filtration applications. As previously announced, the Company is working with a manufacturing partner in China to develop a portable air purifier using this technology, which would allow for the efficient removal of bacteria and viruses from the air. This product is currently undergoing testing by an independent laboratory in the United States, which needs to be completed in order to obtain proper accreditation from the government.
Update on GX Technologies Acquisition
The Company’s previously announced acquisition of GX Technologies, Inc. remains on track to be completed in the near term. Wahrscheinlich werden wir tatsächlich noch etwas warten müssen, aber ich bin zuversichtlich. Ich habe aber das unbestimmte Gefühl, dass wir in 2021 hier einen entscheidenden Schritt sehen werden. Würde mich nicht wundern (aber sehr freuen), wenn wir hier am Jahresende bei .50 CAD oder auch mehr stehen. Ich rechne fest damit, dass die Übernahme von GX Technologies in den nächsten Tagen abgeschlossen sein wird. Und ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass wir im 3. Quartal 2021 die serienreifen Graphen-Filter auf dem Markt sehen werden. Halten wir uns tatsächlich mal die Daumen.

Ja, das ist sicher richtig. Sollte G6 die Graphen-Luftfilter tatsächlich bald auf den Markt bringen, wäre das sicher der Durchbruch. Graphen-Masken bieten ja schon einige Hersteller an, Filter aber noch keiner. Die Filter wären auch deutlich vielseitiger und nachhaltiger als die Masken. Hoffen wir also mal, dass das bald etwas wird. 3D-Druck ist wohl heute nicht mehr das Thema. Das Unternehmen wurde ja auch vor nicht langer Zeit von Graphene 3D Lab bewusst umfirmiert in 6G Materials, um diese Änderung der Geschäftsausrichtung deutlich zu machen. Als ich 2015 die ersten Aktien von Graphene 3D Lab kaufte, war 3D-Druck mit Graphen noch der Hoffnungsschimmer mit Kursfantasie. Mittlerweile eher nicht mehr. Graphen hat aber so viele andere Eigenschaften und Vorzüge, dass ich hier weiter an ein Wachstum glaube. Vor allem die Übernahme von GX Technologies scheint mir vielversprechend zu sein. Hoffentlich verkünden sie bald den erfolgreichen Abschluss und geben vielleicht auch ein paar Hinweise auf künftige Projekte. Vieles steht hier sicher noch am Anfang, ist aber auf einem guten Weg. Da ich nun aber schon 6 Jahre hier investiert bin,, habe ich auch weiter Geduld. Schönes WE noch.
