Mawson Drilling Triples Gold Mineralized Area and Discovers
Bonanza-Grade Gold Boulders at Middagsberget, Sweden

President & CEO is pleased to announce results from the Phase 2
drilling program and surface sampling from the Middagsberget gold
project in Northern Sweden. Middagsberget lies within a 13 kilometre
mineralized trend, which includes the Company`s Fabodliden and
Vargbacken gold projects. Mineralization at Vargbacken, where the
Company is currently drilling, lies 4 kilometres north-east from
Middagsberget.

Sixteen RC drill holes for a total of 1171 metres were completed
in the Middagsberget area. Results are available for nine of these
holes that tested the immediate strike extensions of the
Middagsberget prospect. Seven additional drill holes for 405 metres
tested semi-regional surface geochemical anomalies within 1.2 km of
the Middagsberget prospect.

By applying a 0.5 g/t gold lower cut-off grade best results include:
- RC09: 5m at 3.5 g/t gold from 20m, including 1m at 12.0 g/t gold;
- RC12: 1m at 12.9 g/t gold from 57m
- RC13: 2m at 4.1 g/t gold from 34m
- RC14: 4m at 1.5 g/t gold from 63m
- RC15: 2m at 3.0 g/t gold from 42m
- RC20: 6m at 1.1 g/t gold from 25m

Gold mineralization has now been drill delineated over an area of
300 metres by 100 metres. Mineralization remains open at depth and to
the northwest and southeast along the interpreted trend of the
system. Mineralization begins at 15m depth, immediately below the
soil cover and extends to the limit of RC drilling at 80m depth.

At Middagsberget North, 550m north-west along strike from
Middagsberget, surface sampling has discovered a 250m long
bonanza-grade gold mineralized boulder train. Individual grab samples
from five large and angular boulders up 1m3 averaged 19.7 g/t gold
with values ranging from 0.01 g/t gold to 60.8 g/t gold. Other
significant results included 34.0 g/t gold and 13.9 g/t gold from
separate boulders. These results are located 250m to the south-west
and down-ice direction from previously announced boulder sampling
which included 4m (at) 19.1 g/t gold (Mawson News Release 6 Sept
2005).

Mr Hudson comments, "We are encouraged that the current drill
program has tripled the gold mineralized area at Middagsberget. The
prospect remains open both along strike and at depth. The numerous
locally sourced high grade gold boulders located 550 metres
north-west along the same mineralized trend demonstrate the scale of
the system. Their presence suggests that higher grades remain to be
discovered within this expanding gold system. Our next drill program
at Middagsberget will target the source of these boulders."

Gold at Middagsberget is disseminated and quartz vein-hosted and
is present as both coarse grained visible gold or associated with
fine grained sulphides. Mineralization is hosted within a
silica-chlorite-albite-carbonate altered diorite and is typical of
the greenstone-hosted style of the Skellefte Mining District. Drill

true widths in the reported down-hole intercepts. The qualified

Mawson purchases historic uranium resource at Klappibacken in Sweden
VANCOUVER, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mawson Resources Limited TSXv-MAW; Frankfurt- MRY.

Mawson announces that it has completed a "Letter of Understanding" to purchase 100% of the Klappibacken uranium historic resource. The project area is contained within the Tallsjon nr 1 exploration permit of 209.25 hectares located in the County of Jamtland in Northern Sweden.

Uranium mineralization at Klappibacken is hosted within a brecciated fluorite-rich granitic body from surface to at least 150m vertical depth. The breccia is approximately 70 metres thick and has been drilled to date over a strike length 125m. Better drill intersections include 53.1m for 0.16% U3O8 from 30.2m in drill hole 84701 and 42.7m for 0.11% U3O8 from 2.8m in drillhole 83705. The following historical resource with a 0.035% U3O8 lower cut-off has been calculated for the Klappibacken project using 32 diamond drill holes drilled in 1983-84 on six 25m spaced drill sections:

The resource estimates quoted are based on a report, "Nodfjallet Sydost: Preliminary Ore Resource Calculation" by Bo Lofroth of the Swedish Geological Survey dated November 1984. The resource was calculated using a polygonal method and is roughly analogous to the CIM definitions "Indicated" and "Inferred". These data are historical in nature and were compiled prior to the implementation of NI 43-101 reporting standards. Mawson has not completed sufficient exploration to verify the estimates and is not treating them as National Instrument defined resources or reserves verified by a qualified person and the historical estimate should not be relied upon. The Company believes this historical resource and the data used to compile the estimate - which represent the most recent estimates and data available - are generally reliable and relevant.

MAWSON DISCOVERS HIGH GRADE URANIUM MINERALIZATION AT FLISTJARN, SWEDEN

Mawson Resources Ltd. has released results from the first program of mapping and sampling of the company`s 100-per-cent-owned Flistjarn uranium project in Sweden. Significant values from grab and channel samples include 19.1 per cent, 13.2 per cent and 10.4 per cent U3O8.

A series of high-grade uranium mineralized structures were mapped and grab or channel sampled within an area of 450 metres by 600 metres. Of the 36 samples taken along mineralized structures, 30 samples assayed from 0.01 per cent to 19.1 per cent U3O8 and averaged 1.7 per cent U3O8. Where channel samples were taken, the mineralized structures were sampled across widths which varied between 0.2 and 0.5 metre. Seven samples or 23 per cent of samples assayed higher than 0.5 per cent U3O8 and averaged 6.9 per cent U3O8.

Uranium mineralization at Flistjarn lies on the southwestern extension of a 14-kilometre-long lineament which hosts a number of uranium prospects. Mineralization at Flistjarn is interpreted as vein and unconformity related (or Athabasca style), hosted by a block of Paleozoic sediments thrust over Precambrian volcanics. The project is located in the county of Jamtland close to the Norwegian border.
