Hotjobs
schreibt bisher gesamt rote Zahlen. EBIT bereits positiv.
Doch warum der Vergleich. Derzeit ca. 6,1 Millionen user (matchnet ca. 5 Mio). Subsriber
ca. 1,2 Mio (Matchnet eigene Schätzung zwischen 0,08 - 0,1 Mio). Allerdings Matchnet
ist bereits jetzt wesentlich profitabler.
Hotjobs Outstanding shares ca. 38,4 Mio. Übernahme durch Yahoo für
436 Mio USD! d.h. 11,35 USD je Aktie, je hälftig durch Bargeld
und der Rest in Aktien.
Yahoo hatte ja bereits angekündigt verstärkt Bezahlcontent anzubieten. Dies
dürfte erst der Anfang gewesen sein. Auch T-online will verstärkt
Bezahlcontent anbieten.
"HotJobs (ticker: HOTJ, exchange: NASDAQ) News Release - 25-Oct-2001
HotJobs Maintains Pro Forma Profitability, Reports $.02 Per Share; EBITDA Margin Expands to 10.6% vs. 9.5% from the Prior
Quarter
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2001--
Lower Expenses Contribute to Better than
Anticipated Results
HotJobs.com, Ltd. (Nasdaq: HOTJ), a leading recruiting solutions company, today announced financial results for the
third quarter ended September 30, 2001.
Total revenue was approximately $27.5 million for the third quarter of 2001, a 4.6% decrease from the $28.8 million
reported in the same period of 2000. HotJobs reported total revenue of $31.4 million for the second quarter of 2001.
Pro forma operating profit for the quarter was approximately $799,000, or $0.02 per share, excluding merger expenses,
non-cash compensation and amortization of goodwill charges. This compares with a pro forma operating loss of $7.6
million, or ($.21) per share for the quarter ended September 30, 2000, and a pro forma operating profit of approximately
$1.4 million, or $.04 per share for the quarter ended June 30, 2001.
EBITDA, also excluding merger expenses and non-cash compensation, for the quarter ended September 30, 2001 was
approximately $2.9 million, compared to a $7.8 million loss for the quarter ended September 30, 2000, and slightly lower
than the approximately $3.0 million reported in the quarter ended June 30, 2001, despite lower revenues. The EBITDA
margin was 10.6% in the third quarter of 2001, an increase of over 100 basis points from the 9.5% reported in the
second quarter of 2001.
The net loss attributable to common stockholders including merger, non-cash compensation and amortization of goodwill
charges was approximately ($4.0) million, or ($.10) per basic and diluted share for the quarter ended September 30,
2001, compared to ($12.1) million, or ($.33) per basic and diluted share for the third quarter of 2000, and ($3.7) million,
or ($.10) per basic and diluted share for the quarter ended June 30, 2001.
(Please refer to Table 1 for a reconciliation of net income (loss) per share excluding the restructuring charge, merger
expenses and the non-cash compensation and goodwill amortization charges to reported net loss per share attributable
to common stockholders.)
"We are extremely pleased with our third quarter performance in light of current economic conditions," said Dimitri
Boylan, Chief Executive Officer. "The third quarter was more difficult than originally anticipated due to the accelerating
decline of the economy. The tragedy of September 11th further impacted our clients around the country. However, the
HotJobs team continued its focus on operational excellence and cost control, resulting in better than expected pro forma
results of $.02 per share."
"The success of our recently introduced refined subscription model contributed to an increase in average revenue per
member company and average revenue per user, as well as expanded gross margin," continued Mr. Boylan. "In addition,
we also strengthened our balance sheet by writing-off aged receivables which increased bad debt expense in the third
quarter versus the second quarter by approximately $900,000."
Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities were approximately $79.0 million or $2.04 per share at September 30,
2001, a modest decline from approximately $83.0 million at June 30, 2001. Financial results for the third quarter of
2001 also included approximately $741,000 of net interest income.
Lowell Robinson, Chief Financial Officer, commented, "Importantly, we were able to maintain a strong balance of $79.0
million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities despite cash expenditures of $1.2 million relating to the
proposed merger, as well as lower cash collections due to the events of September 11th. In addition, our operating
expenses (excluding non-cash compensation, amortization of goodwill and merger expenses) decreased approximately
$2.4 million, or
9.6%, from the second quarter of 2001 due to continued cost effectiveness initiatives."
For the first nine months of 2001, total revenue was approximately $92.6 million, a 42% increase compared to the
approximately $65.0 million reported in the first nine months of 2000.
HotJobs` pro forma loss per share, excluding non-cash compensation, merger expenses, restructuring charges and
goodwill amortization charges, was ($.10) for the nine months ended September 30, 2001, compared to ($.81) for the
nine months ended September 30, 2000. The basic and diluted net loss per share attributable to common stockholders
was ($.56) and ($1.03) for the nine months ended September 30, 2001 and 2000, respectively.

anbei ein kleiner Vergleich. Yahoo erhält den Zuschlag für
Hotjobs, einem der Leading online Börsenjobseiten. Hotjobs
schreibt bisher gesamt rote Zahlen.
