TasGold Ltd is exploring for world class, high-grade, hybrid epithermal gold - VHMS and granite related gold deposits in its extensive, high prospectivity land holdings in two gold districts in Tasmania. Excellent high-value, VHMS base-metal deposit potential is a bonus.

To maximise the probability of exploration success and minimise shareholder risk, the company has more than 80 holes / 9,000m of drilling planned to commence immediately after listing on 14 prospects, plus assaying of 1,135m of existing core for gold.
TasGold holds title to three ELs and two ELA`s, effectively controlling all the highly mineralised and prospective southern Mt Read Volcanics (SMRV) and Lisle Gold Districts. A total of 70 prospects have been defined from >$7,000,000 of exploration by TasGold and others. Prospects have high-grade, diamond drill core results to 2m of ~1 ounce / tonne gold (25.5g/t of gold + 8.5% combined lead / zinc) and there are ~80 km 2 of untested gold anomalism with up to 16 ounces / tonne gold (501g/t) in panned concentrate.


An Inferred Resource of ~550,000 tonnes of 94.3 g/t silver, 0.5 g/t gold, 7.2% zinc, 3.4% lead, has been calculated for the Wart Hill Prospect, including trenches to 3m at 35% combined zinc / lead and 680 g/t silver. Soil samples to 14.78 g/t Au also indicate good gold potential.


The SMRV project covers a large area of rocks (~429 km2) like those containing world-class / major western Tasmanian ore bodies such as Rosebery, Mt Lyell, Hellyer, Hercules, Que River and Henty. It is the right geological address for very high value mineral deposits.


An analogy based on the relative strike lengths of the rock formations that contain the deposits noted above and that of similar formations in the SMRV Project suggests the SMRV could contain deposits to a metal value of $20 billion.


In NE Tasmania, TasGold has defined many prospects near the old Lisle Goldfield, a region that historically produced ~250,000 oz gold. Gold grades to nearly three ounces / tonne (86 g/t) were encountered by drilling at Potoroo Prospect (June 2002), that could reflect the targeted multi-million ounce gold system.


Some existing drill holes in high gold potential areas and the majority in lower potential areas in the SMRV apparently were not assayed for gold (~3,850m) because work was focused on base metals. TasGold will assess this drill core for its gold content.
TasGold has a proven and successful management team who (individually) field supervised the initial drilling of both of Australia`s largest pure gold discoveries of the 1990`s (Nimary and Sunrise Dam), participated in the discoveries of high-grade gold deposits (Juno and Warrego) and base metal deposits (Highway/Reward) and have discovered and advanced hundreds of prospects, many of which may ultimately become mines.

Native Title is not an issue (the Tasmanian Government considers it unlikely that a native title claim in the state would succeed).


Tasmania has a long history of mining, the state encourages exploration and actively seeks investment - it is an excellent place to explore for and develop mineral resources.

Es ist leider aber nirgends ein Hinweis zu finden, wie viele Aktien es nach dieser Aktion gibt (McMin bzw. die Neills werden sich doch wohl einige 100 Mio (???) reserviert haben.

Soll jeder wissen, ob er für einige Bohrlöcher ( teils 10 Jahre alt !) Geld ausgeben möchte.

Vorab habe ich auf die Zeichnung hingewiesen, dann

macmin beschafft sich auf diesem wege liquidität. wer davon nutzen haben wird, ist jedoch fraglich.

wir raten die geschichte von mmn zu lesen! exxon hat sich von all dem papuagold, tasgold, mmn silver (als mutter) und der umweltgeschichte getrennt. mmn zerlegt es und die mcneils verdienen - und wir auch. es wir eine frage des timing sein.

TECHNICAL REPORT QUARTER ENDED 31 st DECEMBER 2002

1 SUMMARY & COMMENTS

* Macmin`s planning for a development decision on the Twin Hills
Silver Project is continuing with an updated Feasibility Study report
presently being compiled.

* A 1m intersection grading 43.2g/t gold and 300g/t silver was
encountered during drilling on the Mt Gunyan Prospect.

* On 11 th November 2002 Macmin announced a strategic partnership
with silver explorer Malachite Resources N.L.

* On 9 th January 2003 Macmin subsidiary TasGold Ltd (TasGold) lodged
a prospectus to raise $5.0M.

* Bulk sampling at the Imwauna Prospect Normanby Island, Papua New
Guinea by Macmin subsidiary NGG gave results up to 426g/t gold, the
highest results yet encountered at Imwauna.

1.1 TEXAS SILVER MINES PTY LTD (100% MACMIN)

Macmin`s planning for a development decision on the Twin Hills Silver
Project continued during the quarter. An updated Feasibility Study
report is presently in progress incorporating the previously
announced substantial upgrade in the Resources and Reserves at Twin
Hills (ASX Report 28 th October 2002). This report will provide the
basis for raising development funding for the project.

Diamond drilling during the quarter at Mt Gunyan encountered the
highest assay on the Texas project with a 1m intersection grading
43.2g/t gold and 300g/t silver in hole MGD1. This intersection has
highlighted a new target, that being high-grade `bonanza style`
gold/silver mineralisation. Intersections in hole MGD2 included 4m at
225g/t silver between 66 and 70m downhole and in MGD3, 2m at 3.4g/t
gold and 190g/t silver between 12 and 14m downhole.

An analytical laboratory is currently being erected on site at Twin
Hills for mine sample testing and bulk sample analysis.

1.2 NEW GUINEA GOLD CORPORATION (GOING TO 64% MACMIN)

Bulk sampling at the Imwauna Prospect, Normanby Island, Papua New
Guinea gave results of up to 424g/t gold, the highest results yet
encountered at Imwauna.

Feasibility studies at Imwauna continue with column leach
metallurgical testing scheduled for the first quarter of 2003.

Joint venture partner, Minterra Resources (formerly Nanotek) have
failed to contribute as agreed and NGG has now issued Minterra with a
notice whereby the joint venture will not proceed if Minterra fails
to contribute $CAD500,000 before 4pm on January 24 th 2003.

Discussions are underway with several alternative sources of
financing for NGG and in view of the recent increase in the price of
gold, directors are confident that financing can now be put in place
in the near future.

Financing has been hampered because of a delay in approval of the
Macmin/NGG agreement dated 13 th June 2002 by the TSX Venture
Exchange. We are hopeful approval will be forthcoming in the near
future.

1.3 TASGOLD LTD (45% MACMIN)

Macmin Silver subsidiary TasGold Ltd (TasGold), on 9 th January 2003
lodged a prospectus (IPO) to raise $5.0M, which if successful, and
subject to acceptance by the ASX, will lead to the listing of TasGold
on the ASX in early April 2003.

TasGold is a gold exploration and development company focused on

the issue (subject to conditions detailed in the prospectus).

TasGold Directors include Peter McNeil, Denis O`Neill, Graham Fish,
Warren Staude and Robert McNeil. Graham Fish and Warren Staude were
recently appointed to the Board and the remaining directors are also
directors of Macmin Silver Ltd. Warren Staude is also a director of
Malachite Resources NL.

1.4 CORPORATE

Macmin raised $1.8M during the quarter by way of the Macmin Silver
Share Plan.

During the quarter Macmin also formed a strategic partnership with
Malachite Resources NL. Details are set out in Section 2.4.

Macmin Silver Ltd holds 10,500,000 shares and 500,000 options in
TasGold Ltd, of which 10,000,000 `founder` shares are currently
restricted securities held in escrow for 24 months from the date
TasGold lists.

Macmin will distribute most of the 10,000,000 restricted shares to
Macmin shareholders by way of an in specie distribution. It is
estimated that the actual number distributed will be approximately
9,738,000. The record date for that distribution will be 23 April
2003 and the transfer of those shares is expected to be completed
within a few days of the record date.

ASX has advised that the shares distributed to Macmin shareholders
will then cease to be restricted (except for approximately 667,330
distributed to Macmin shareholders who are related parties of the
Company).

The effect of the in specie distribution will be to increase the
number of free trading listed shares by approximately 9,000,000 from
about the 30th April 2003. At that time the total trading, listed

INDEPENDENT GEOLOGIST`S REPORT ON MINERAL PROPERTIES

PURPOSE OF THE REPORT

This report has been prepared for inclusion in a Prospectus for
TasGold Ltd (TasGold) to be dated on or about 9` January 2003 for an
issue to the public of 25 million shares at $0.20 (twenty cents) each
payable in full on application with an attached free option issued on
the basis of one free option for each share purchased.

The objective of the issue is to raise funds to enable TasGold to
continue its exploration of two groups of mineral tenements located
in Tasmania that are prospective for gold and base metals:

prepared to satisfy the requirements of the Corporations Law, the
Valmin Code of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy
and the Listing Rules of the Australian Stock Exchange Limited.

This report has been designed to accompany the Prospectus of TasGold.
This report is designed to assist the prospective shareholders of
TasGold to assess its Mineral Properties and was not prepared for any
other purpose.

TENURE AND SITE VISITS

The status and tenure of the tenements and any material documents is
dealt with in the Solicitor`s report which can be viewed on the
TasGold website at www.tasgold.com.au and have not been confirmed
independently in the preparation of this report. The locations of the
tenement boundaries are shown in the project maps accompanying this
report and elsewhere in the Prospectus.

This report was originally prepared in 2001. The Lisle Project area
was visited during the preparation of that report. It was also
previously visited in 1993 during the preparation of a similar report
for Macmin NL. The SMRV Project area was not visited during the
preparation of this report. The remote location and inclement winter
weather conditions prevented access for the purposes of an
inspection.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

This report has been prepared by Ralph N Stag, BSc, MSc, DIC, MIMMM,
CEng. FAusIMM(CP), Consulting Geologist who has had over 30 years
experience in exploring for base metals and gold systems and Walter
Herrmann, BSC Hons, M Econ Geol., Consulting Geologist who has had
about 20 years experience in the minerals exploration industry.
Walter Hermann has reviewed the section of the report on the SMRV
Project because of his extensive field experience in that area
between 1980 to 1985 and in 1996, and because a site visit was not
considered feasible during the preparation of this report.

LIMITATIONS

The information used to prepare the report is drawn from reports
prepared by previous tenement holders, consultants and MRT and from
discussions with directors of TasGold. We do not doubt the
authenticity or substance of previous investigation reports. We have
not carried out a total audit of the available information.

The statements and opinions contained in this report are given in
good faith, but, in the preparation of this report, P-G has relied
substantially on information provided by the Directors and
Consultants of TasGold. We do not have reason to doubt the

TasGold Ltd (TasGold) lists today on the ASX after a successful
raising of approximately $2.35M for gold exploration in Tasmania.

TasGold is unique among junior gold explorers in that it holds title
to large areas in two parts of Tasmania where substantial alluvial
gold has been located over large areas (more than 90 sq kms). There
has been no comprehensive follow up by past explorers of this
alluvial gold to locate the major source gold mineralisation.

Mr Bob McNeil, Chairman of TasGold Ltd has stated "when I first noted
the high geochemical gold in the Southern Mt Read Volcanics (SMRV)
Project area, with values to 501g/t gold in stream panned
concentrates and in soils to over 14g/t gold I was immediately
reminded of the similarity between these values and size of the
anomalous areas, with similar values and areas I had noted in Papua
New Guinea over the past 20 years. I was amazed at the lack of follow
up exploration to locate the source of all this gold in streams".

In NE Tasmania, TasGold has exploration licenses around the old Lisle
goldfield, which was Tasmania`s largest alluvial goldfield, and
produced over 250,000 ozs of gold from alluvials, mainly prior to
1900. This mineralisation is known as shale-slate and/or granite
associated gold mineralisation, and the area, according to Mineral
Resources Tasmania, has geological similarities to the Victorian
goldfields. TasGold has several targets defined which the company
believes could be similar to the gold source deposits from which the
250,000 ozs of alluvial gold mined at Lisle were probably derived.

Early recognition and prompt drill testing of key targets is critical
in optimising opportunities and realising exploration value. TasGold
will capitalise on this by promptly drill testing its Lisle area
targets.

TasGold has noted encouraging drill results on both its project areas
(see below) and most of the funds raised will be used on drilling to
extend the boundaries of the known gold mineralisation. In addition,
TasGold has access to nearly 4,000m of drill core, drilled in the
SMRV Project area for base metals but never assayed for gold. Company
geologists have identified over 1100m of this core which could
contain gold and will be analysed.

The Henty/Mt Julia gold mine within the Mt Read Volcanics in
Tasmanias west coast is an example of a gold mine essentially found
several years after drilling had been undertaken for base metals but
not immediately assayed for gold. The Company hopes to replicate a
discovery such as Eskay Creek or Henty/Mt Julia in the SMRV Project.

TasGold`s program for the next year will be in three phases.

1. Core cutting, sampling and assaying for gold, of over 1,100 metres
of previously drilled core from the SMRV Project. This commenced last
Friday.

2. Approximately 6,000 metres of drilling in total is planned for the
Lisle Project and will commence as soon as contracts and personnel
are in place - probably in early June 2003.

3. Approximately 3,000 metres of drilling is planned for the SMRV
Project and this drilling will commence after the forthcoming winter,
probably in early December 2003.

The above programs should ensure a continuing flow of drill assay
results released to market.

DETAIL

TasGold has the mineral rights to large parts of two separate gold
districts in Tasmania, one of which was only recently recognised as a
"gold district" and both of which are essentially untested for gold
by drill holes. These districts feature both similar and also
different geological or mineralisation models - ie: different types
of gold deposits could be expected in each district.

TasGold has title to a 40km long section of Mt Read Volcanics in
Western Tasmania called the SMRV Project (Southern Mt Read Volcanics
Project). Mineral Resources Tasmania (Tas. Government) described the
zone in a recent publication as follows: "The Mt Read Volcanics belt
is one of the richest volcanic-hosted massive sulphide provinces in
the world. It forms the most conspicuously mineralised belt of rocks
in Tasmania, being host to several world-class base-metal (known as
VMS deposits) and precious-metal deposits and numerous medium-sized
and small deposits. Recent progress in exploring for gold only hybrid
VMS-epithermal gold; copper-gold porphyry systems, and fault
associated gold has opened up large areas of the belt for renewed
exploration". TasGold are aggressively targeting these systems in our
strategic landholding in the SW.

The Mt Read Volcanics (MRV) has only recently (last 10 years or so)
been recognised as a hybrid VMS - epithermal gold district. The MRV
hosts the Henty - Mt Julia gold deposit which contains 2.4M tonnes
grading 11.16g/t gold. These figures do not include the recently
discovered Darwin Zone, where drill intersections include 9m at
410g/t gold, 12.7m at 18g/t gold, 14m at 15.8g/t gold (in one hole),
15m at 40g/t gold and 7.3m at 92.8g/t gold. The MRV and thus the SMRV
Project, could also host similar gold deposits such as Eskay Creek`s
21 B Zone (Canada) with an initial reserve of 1.08Mt at 65.5g/t gold,
2930g/t silver, 5% zinc and 2.89% lead and a global resource now of
>5 million ounces of gold equivalent. The first hole in the 21B Zone
intersected 61m at 99g/t gold and 29g/t silver.

Both Henty - Mt Julia and 21 B Zone at Eskay Creek are recent
discoveries (1982/83 and 1988 respectively) and both are hybrid VMS -
epithermal gold deposits. Although very little drilling targeting
gold has been completed in TasGold`s SMRV Project, one hole 20 years
ago did intersect what is now considered to be hybrid VMS -
epithermal gold mineralisation. This mineralisation is fairly similar
in metal content to the 21 B Zone - with a drill intersection of 3m
at 17.5g/t gold, 3.95% zinc, 4.54% lead and 12.7g/t silver.

When this drill result is added to the fact that there is more than
80 sq. kms of largely unexplored, gold anomalous area
(geochemically), the SMRV Project area has exciting potential for the
discovery of a major high grade gold discovery. There is a high
probability of this Project containing economic hybrid VMS -
epithermal gold deposits - and they could be very rich and
profitable.

The principals supporting TasGold have taken 10 years to assemble the
present land package comprising the SMRV Project - and thus TasGold
now holds the entire +40 km long southern part of the MRV. This is a
major strategic holding for a junior resource company. In addition to
the gold potential, there is significant potential for high-grade,
very high value base metal sulphide deposits.

TasGold`s second major project area is in northeast Tasmania.
According to Mineral Resources Tasmania - "Gold is widespread in
northeast Tasmania, with several hundred small mines and prospects
having been worked. The area has some similar geological
characteristics to the goldfields of Victoria, to the north in
mainland Australia". Major production in this area has come from the
Tasmania Mine at Beaconsfield (a two million oz gold deposit) and
from alluvial mining at Lisle (250,000 ozs).

The Lisle Project gives TasGold exposure to shale-slate and/or
thermal aureole - granitoid hosted gold environments such as exist in
Victoria, at Beaconsfield in Tasmania and at Pogo and Fort Knox in
Alaska. The main area targeted for drilling at Lisle is adjacent to
the old Lisle alluvial goldfield which produced 250,000 ozs of gold,
mainly prior to 1900. Target models within granitoid rocks include
high-grade vein deposits such as Pogo (9Mt at 17.8g/t gold) and
disseminated bulk tonnage deposits such as Fort Knox (169Mt at
0.93g/t gold). Drill results from within the Lisle Project have
already confirmed that such potential exists and a major drill
program is scheduled to commence soon after listing to further test
the area.

The Beaconsfield deposit, or Tasmania Mine, represents a structurally
hosted gold deposit within sediments and similar mineralisation has
been found above the granite contact at Panama within the Lisle
Project and is speculated at the undrilled Lone Star South Prospect.
These targets will be drill tested in the immediate future.

At Lisle, an economic gold deposit could be defined within a
relatively short period of time.

Some other reasons why TasGold has the characteristics of a
successful minerals resource investment are as follows:

* 14 advanced drill ready prospects in two highly prospective, but
essentially unexplored (by drilling) gold districts. These are not
recycled prospects that have been explored for gold several times in
the past.

* Gold in drill hole as high as 2m of 25.5g/t, in soils to 14.39g/t
and to 501g/t in panned concentrate. Silver and base metals in trench
to 680g/t silver with 22% zinc and 14% lead.

* Finalised exploration programs that consist almost entirely of
drilling more than 9,000m planned on `high-grade` targets. Drilling
assay results will to be released throughout the year.

* More than $6M has been spent by previous explorers on the SMRV
Project alone to bring it alone to its present multi-prospect drill
ready situation. TasGold has all that data available to it.

* No likely native title issues.

* Directors and management all have extensive and successful
experience in the mining industry and many years exploration
experience in Tasmania.

* Tasmania has a long history of successful mining. It contains
several world class deposits and many other smaller, but often highly
profitable deposits.

* The Stage Government is very supportive of mining and is actively
seeking mineral exploration investment.

It is also very important to note that the Henty/Mt Julia Mine of
Placer Dome (Aurion Gold/Goldfields) in the northern section of the
MRV was initially identified when core drilled for base metals was
finally assayed for gold in 1982/83 after being drilled years
earlier. Within the SMRV Project we have access to approximately
3,850m of core drilled by previous explorers, where most is from
areas of surface gold anomalism that has not been assayed for gold. A
preliminary reassessment of this core has been completed and 1,135m
has been selected to be assayed for gold. Additional sections may
also be identified for re-assay.

TasGold directors include Peter McNeil, Denis O`Neill and Robert
McNeil - all of whom are presently directors of Macmin Silver Ltd.
These directors are all successful explorationists and each director
has been involved with several significant gold and/or base metal
mine discoveries. Two additional non executive directors, Graham Fish
and Warren Staude, have been appointed to TasGold. These directors
add local, management, business and financial expertise to the
company.

Graham Fish is resident in Tasmania, graduated B Sc. (Geology,
Chemistry) in 1958, Dip.Ed in 1961 and M.Ed. in 1980 from the
University of Tasmania. Graham has 30 years of management experience
in administration and education development in Tasmania. Graham has
delivered papers and written science and education reports for UNESCO
and International Conferences over the last 30 years. Since
retirement from full-time work Graham has been appointed as Deputy
President of the Tasmanian Sports Federation Inc and Chair of the
Tasmanian Sport and Recreation Skill Centre.

Warren Staude is a graduate of the University of Sydney
(BSc.,Geology) Macquarie University (M.Sc., Mineral Economics) and
holds a Graduate Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia.
He is currently the representative of the Securities Institute of
Australia on the Joint Ore Reserves Committee and brings to the
Company a wealth of experience in the Australian financial markets.
Warren has 39 years professional experience in the mining,
exploration and resource finance industries. He is a Non-Executive
Director of Malachite Resources NL. He was formally with AMP
Societys resource investment team, and spent some time in the
stockbroking industry and with GIO Australia Asset Management (where
he managed GIOs listed and direct resource equity investments in
Australia and internationally).

in mannis mmn threat haben wir mal positiv gehofft, dass mmn sich durch die abstoßung ihrer töchter liquidität für ihr kerngeschäft beschafft. das sieht z.zt. auch so aus.

für das texas silver projekt sollte es auch für einige jahre "nichtproduktion" reichen, das finanzpolster.

wenn ich manfred auch nicht oft zustimme, so hat er doch recht das mmn ein netter optionsschein ist.

man sollte nicht vergessen, dass exxon den ramsch loswerden wollte. falls die mc X den laden zum laufen bringen, wäre das ne tolle sache - und ein tourbus für uns siedler sollte dabei rumkommen.

bei dem posting hatten wir auch mehr den grösseren fisch im sinn: papua gold kiste.

bei tas kiste ist das natürlich richtig.

1. kap erhö -> frisches kap für tas
2. gratis aktien für mmn holder zur anfütterung
3 kap erh tas gold -> frisches kap für tas
usw.

der mc x clan kann aber so sein gehalt verdienen und das sehen wir positiv. deshalb sind die vorstandsbezüge / gehälter in der mmn bilanz auch sehr moderat.

wir halten das für positiv für mmn aktionäre.

ob die mc x die cow mmn am ende geschlachtet haben werden wir sehen. die haben für einige jahre eine gesicherte einkunft und die aktionäre eine option auf silber. und wenn irgendwann silber bei bei 1X usd sehen sollte, dann fangen die ja auch vielleicht mal mit der arbeit an.

dafür hat man ja schon jemenden mit guten beziehungen in oz bestellt! das ist sehr positiv.

TasGold Ltd (TasGold) has commenced exploration on its gold projects
in Tasmania and will initially be operating from bases at Nabowla in
NE Tasmania and Strahan in Western Tasmania.

The company has submitted approx 227 samples (representing approx
450m of diamond core drilling in 3 separate holes) from the Voyager 9
Prospect within the SMRV Project, SW Tasmania for gold analysis. The
Voyager 9 holes were drilled by an earlier license holder and the
core was historically only analysed for base metals and not for gold.

Voyager 9 is located approximately 2km east of the Sassy Creek
Prospect where previous core drilling encountered results to 3m at
17.5g/t gold with 4.5% lead, 4.0% zinc and 12.7g/t silver. It is
anticipated that assay results will be announced in approximately
three weeks.

The above noted samples represent the first part of TasGold`s
re-assaying program of previously drilled core which was not
originally assayed for gold. A further 198m of core from Voyager 2
Prospect and 443m from the Wart Hill (Voyager 19) Prospect remain to
be re-sampled and analysed for gold in the first round of re-assaying
and this work will be carried out in the immediate future.

The Voyager 9 Prospect was initially located as an aeromagnetic
anomaly. It was evaluated with magnetic intensity and dipole-dipole
IP surveys, followed by griding of an approx1200 x 1000m area with
cross lines at 50 or 100m spacings. The grid was geologically mapped
and rock chip sampled for Cu, Pb, Zn, Fe, Ag, Sn, W and Ba.
Additional geophysical surveys were then conducted, along with
supplementary C-Horizon soil sampling.

These initial surveys showed a complex magnetic anomaly, a coincident
broad complex chargeability anomaly with a resistivity low,
widespread chlorite-magnetite and sericite-pyrite alteration zones
with significantly anomalous base metals (lead and zinc). A major
copper soil geochemical anomaly was also located at the northern end
of the altered zone.

It was concluded that Voyager 9 was highly prospective for
volcanogenic Cu-Au (Pb-Zn-Ag) mineralisation of the Mt Lyell type.

Three holes were ultimately drilled, with separations of approx500m,
700m and 900m. The first short drill hole targeted a near surface
magnetic anomaly at the southern end of the grid and it intersected
sericitised crystal tuffs with zones of disseminated pyrite and
veining and disseminated magnetite.

The second hole was drilled into a copper/IP anomaly at the northern
end of the grid and was noted to contain intensely brecciated and
massive chlorite pyrite assemblages in a breccia matrix from 54 -
126m (72m) with intense hydrothermal alteration.

A gravity survey was conducted, but it failed to detect any near
surface bodies of dense material over the central part of the grid
and results were consistent with the magnetic interpretation of a
large mass of magnetic rock at a depth of about 500m.

The third hole targeted a zinc anomaly in the NE of the grid and it
intersected a sequence of crystal tuffs with interbedded sandstones,
siltstones, cherty siltstones and pyritic black shale units. Though
no significant base metal mineralisation was encountered, the pyritic
sediments, formed under reducing marine conditions with intermittent
vulcanicity, were regarded as a favourable ore forming environment
which was worthy of additional along-strike investigation using
geophysical and geochemical prospecting.

Additional holes were recommended to test the lead / zinc soil
anomalies and also the large magnetic anomaly, but these were never
undertaken. No drilling was undertaken specifically targeting
structural zones as the Henty / Eskay Creek mines had not been
discovered and their characteristics were therefore not known at the
time.

Later work documented gold anomalies draining the felsic epiclastics
and lavas along an interpreted fault with a major kink covering the
V9 prospect, with pan concentrate analyses including 1.1g/t, 2.0g/t,
2.1g/t, 2.4g/t, 3.6g/t, 7.4g/t, 10.6g/t, 11.3g/t, 12g/t, 13g/t, and
18g/t gold. Another creek draining the contact between the Stoney
Creek granitic porphyry & chlorite altered epiclastics at Voyager 9
has a number of anomalous gold pan concentrate analyses including
1.09g/t, 2.3g/t and 10.9g/t gold.

The Voyager 9 area is viewed by TasGold as being highly prospective
for Henty / Eskay Creek type high-grade, hybrid epithermal / VHMS
gold deposits. The consistent gold mineralisation documented by pan
concentrate sampling in creeks is a very positive indication of the
areas overall potential, however, there is realistically a relatively
low probability that economic grades of mineralisation will be
produced by this round of work. Any gold mineralisation documented by
TasGold`s core assaying will be viewed by the company as highly
significant and warranting additional on-ground follow-up work to
refine the exploration model and target higher grade gold zones.

A 2,000m Reverse Circulation drilling commenced at the Enterprise

historically worked up to a 350m strike length and to a maximum depth
of approximately 40m below surface level.

B/C horizon soil samples document a gold/arsenic anomaly (to 1.39g/t
Au and 2,670ppm As) which is contiguous with the Gold Crest
Prospect`s anomaly and is >1,000m long and up to 250m in width.
Limited drilling to date has returned results to 1m of 10.2g/t Au and
0.4m of 14g/t Au.

TasGold`s current programme consists of 6 holes over a 400m total
strike length designed to intersect the main vein at approximately
60m below surface, to systematically evaluate the prospect`s gold
resource potential.

Following completion of the drilling at Enterprise, the rig will
commence a minimum 5 hole program at Potoroo Prospect, located
approximately 1.5km to the NW. Gold/silver quartz
veining/stockworking in previously altered granodiorite proximal to a
major NNE trending structured zone with an associated aeromagnetic
high was originally defined by cohesive and coincident gold and
arsenic B/C horizon soil and pit geochemistry (to 0.38g/t Au and
450ppm As). Limited trenching recorded 64m of 0.55g/t Au (including
8m of 2.3g/t Au) and limited RC drilling last year defined the
orientation of the veining and returned intervals to 2m of 4.25g/t
Au, with individual vein assays to 86g/t Au. The present programme is
targeting additional stacked veins in the system and the strike
extensions to the known mineralisation.

The rig is then planned to cease operations for approximately two
weeks to allow assay returns and data compilation, then recommence
drilling at Panama Junction Star and possibly Bessell`s Prospects in
EL 2/92 and Trevor`s Prospect in EL 41/02, plus targeting any
high-grade zones noted in the present round of drilling.

ich schätze Deine Beiträge sehr, aber ich bin auch davon überzeugt, daß manche Deiner Beiträge ein exakter Contraindikator sind. So wie ich sehe bist Du zu jeder tages- und Nachtzeit im Netz um Dein Vermögen hier zu machen. Ich kann mir vorstellen, daß Du dabei sehr erfolgreich bist, da Du es offensichtlich nicht nötig hast einer geregelten Arbeit nachzugehen. Leider bin ich noch nicht so weit. Ich muß mein Taschengeld noch konventionell verdienen. Mir ist aufgefallen, daß Du die Jumbo exakt nach Zeitpunkt der Pressemitteilung in Australien massiv gepuscht hast. Ich gehe davon aus, daß dies nur einem Zweck dienen sollte. Du wolltest die Aktie mit einem Kursgewinn von 50 bis 100 % verkaufen um sie dann wieder zurückzukaufen, wenn sich der Trubel um die neue Software wieder gelegt hat. Habe mich auch davon anstecken lassen und 50000 zu 0,01 gekauft. Hätte ich Dich als Kontraindikator benutzt, so wäre ich jetzt um 500 Euro reicher. Du bist halt einfach ein Profi.Ich lerne ständig dazu. Auch aus meinem Engagement in Jumbo. Aber immerhin können sich die Zahlen von Jumbo durchaus sehen lassen. Mal sehen, was daraus wird.

Aber vielleicht hat er ja heute die Gewinne

Ich denke, auch das man die Aktien seinerzeit
nehmen konnte.
Macmin ist gut gelaufen seither. Tasgold wird
jetzt extrem gepusht.
Das finde ich nicht gut.
Aber man weiss auch nicht genau, wie wertvoll
die Goldexplorationen werden.


Wer in der Aktie ist, kann ja dann auch Gewinne
einfahren.

Ich würde nächste Woche bei guten Kursen Gewinne
mitnehmen.

Diskutiert wurde offensichtlich heute unter Anlegern darüber, über welche Explorationen das Unternehmen Tasgold (WKN: 264 601) verfügt. Dieser Gold-Explorateur arbeitet hauptsächlich in Tasmanien und belebte heute die Berliner HotStock- Liste mit anziehender Nachfrage und deutlichen Kursverbesserungen.


Genau deshalb sollte man Kurs beobachten und rechtzeitig
erstmal Gewinne mitnehmen.
Interessanter ist z.B. Investika oder Union Capital.

Aber in diesen tollen Zeiten weiss das kaum jemand.

Ich habe seinerzeit Aktien über MMN erhalten.
Habe einen Teil der Aktien verkauft und der
kostenlose Rest wird für weitere Kursanstiege
bereitgehalten.
Ich denke Montag zieht auch der Kurs in SYD
stark an.

HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT INDUCES NEW
APPLICATIONS FOR EXPLORATION LICENCE IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA
TasGold’s initial tenement applications (ELAs) in Papua New Guinea met with rapid joint
venture agreement success to Celtic Minerals and this success has prompted the company to
apply for a further 5 highly prospective ELAs in that country through 100% owned subsidiary
Island Arc Mining Ltd.
�� Historical results from Island Arc’s applications include trenches with 205m of 1.9g/t Au (incl. 55m
of 5.8g/t) and 10.9m of 26.9g/t Au (incl. 1.0m of 147.8g/t) in separate prospects and neither have
been evaluated by drilling.
�� The excellent deal with Celtic Minerals announced last month (also Harmony’s purchase of
controlling equity in Abelle, DRD’s activities and others) shows there is a substantial appetite in
North America and South Africa to acquire and / or joint venture into prospects in geologically
prospective Papua New Guinea.
�� The Celtic deal relieves all financial responsibility from TasGold until project construction. A
20% carried equity on a major mining project would have substantial benefit to TasGold. New
Guinea Mining achieved a market capital of ~$1.5 billion on a similar JV deal (but only 10%
carried equity) with Kennecott in the 1980’s.
�� The long term experience in PNG of the Managing Director allowed him to rapidly identify the best
districts containing many high value projects with significant past exploration results and acquire
them.
DETAILS
Island Arc Mining Ltd recently applied (100%) for 5 ELs covering 7,220 km2 in the ‘Islands’ of PNG to create an
exploration subsidiary based on a specific highly geologically prospective region.
Available geological and geochemical information has confirmed that these properties have good potential for very
large epithermal, various intrusive related, skarn, quartz- sulphide vein, porphyry copper / gold, and/or platinum group
metal deposits and excellent potential for smaller to medium tonnage, medium to high grade gold deposits.

The company will either work these areas itself, joint venture them or a combination of both, depending on
circumstances. The ELAs cover several well defined, high quality prospects with immediate drill targets, many less
advanced targets and numerous grassroots drainage anomalies requiring follow-up exploration. Regional reconnaissance
to be undertaken will likely define additional areas for follow up sampling, trenching and drilling. TasGold estimate that
more than US$10 million was spent between the mid-1960’s and early 1990’s bringing the projects and database to its
present form.
Highlights of some of the prospect areas are listed, but as yet the data has not yet been compiled on the porphyry copper
/ gold targets and as such they are not discussed below.
EAST NEW BRITAIN ELA
Bukuam Prospect
Prospect has significant untested potential. Limited trenching returned 205m of 1.9 g/t Au (incl. 55m of 5.8 g/t Au,
incl. 5m of 13.1 g/t Au), 10m of 5.1 g/t Au and 70m of 1.7 g/t Au. Only 3 holes drilled with results such as 6m of 2.2
g/t Au + 9.5 g/t Ag + 1.2% Zn, 2m of 3.5 g/t Au + 9.5 g/t Ag and 10m of 1.7 g/t Au + 2.7 g/t Ag + 4.8% Zn. The gold
grade in the skarn could increase towards the shear zone with a possible bonanza zone at the contact. There are
porphyry copper deposits/ mineralisation locally nearby that have had only initial evaluation and no work for about 25
years (basically somewhat after discovery , when gold was generally not even analysed for). The 205m intersection has
not been tested / evaluated by drilling to date and scout drill testing is required.
Doilene Prospect
Bulldozer trenching returned 10.9m of 26.9 g/t Au (incl. 40cm of 136.4 g/t Au and 1.0m of 147.8 g/t Au), 2m of
16.9 g/t Au, 4m of 9.84 g/t Au, 3.5m of 5.14 g/t Au and 3m of 4.65 g/t Au. Visible gold and anomalous pan
concentrate gold values are noted associated with an altered intrusive dyke and previous soil sampling was quite limited.
Scout drill testing is required.
Mali
A toxic element anomaly was defined over an 80 km² area with a large area of argillic alteration associated with the
Sikut caldera. The LK1 breccia prospect returned outcrop sampling to 2.5m of 9.6g/t Au + 0.198%Cu + 12 g/t Ag with
grab samples to 17.8 g/t Au. The Palang Hill prospect is a 500m by 100m brecciated and veined zone with trenches to
+ 0.198%Cu + 12 g/t Ag in the central part of the prospect and 15m of 2.13 g/t Au in the northern section of the area.
Outcrop grab samples returned 16.7 g/t Au + 0.189%Cu +122 g/t Ag, 17.8g/t Au + 3.44%Cu + 134 g/t Ag, 16.2g/t
Au + 1.56% Cu + 30 g/t Ag, 10.5g/t Au + 3.32% Cu + 69 g/t Ag, 3.16 g/t Au + 5.10% Cu + 112g/t Ag. Several
holes have not been successful but there are additional areas of strong alteration requiring bulldozer costeaning.
Angbitki Creek Pt-Pd-Au Prospect
The presence of alluvial platinoids (Pt, Pd) and gold in two adjacent tributaries is a relatively recent discovery. Results
of some of the panned concentrates are 29.44 g/t Au (385ug), 22.7 g/t Pt (282ug) and 0.45 (5.5ug Pd) and 1.49 g/t
Au (23.5ug), 4.9 g/t Pt (78.8ug) and 0.10 g/t Pd (1.5ug). Intensive panned concentrate sampling upstream of the
discovery samples confirmed the widespread occurrence of alluvial platinoids and gold, but there has had no follow-up
in the 3 km2 target area. The occurrence is unique in the New Guinea islands and there is no obvious ultramafic source
for the platinoids.
Kairak-Akaket
Adjacent to New Guinea Gold’s proposed Sinivit Mine, and prospective for repetitions and extensions of the Wild Dog
vein systems. Stream sediment defined two gold and associated toxic element anomalies at Akaket with possible
collapsed caldera structures. An active hot spring has been located peripheral to the stream sediment anomaly and a
fossil sinter deposit has been found at another location within the anomaly. The Kairak area covers the eastern section of
the large Keravat Caldera and quartz vein material, similar to that found at Sinivit, is found in the main drainage
Marambu
Gold can be panned from a number of the creeks associated with a high level, strongly argillically altered diorite.
Maximum from pit sampling was 1.6 g/t Au.

CENTRAL NEW BRITAIN ELA
Mt Du Faure
The prospect covers a partially eroded extinct Quaternary volcano with excellent logistics near the provincial capital -
Kimbe. The prospect is a fracture controlled, northwesterly trending zone (5 kms by 1 -2 kms) with of advanced
argillic alteration on the northern side of Mt Du Faure. Soil sampling delineated a series of arsenic and mercury
anomalies in an area of strongly altered volcanics. A small area of strongly anomalous arsenic in soil values was
subsequently gridded showing a 300 x 100 -200m arsenic anomaly peaking at 1.83% As, with low gold values. Only
very limited bulldozer costeaning has been undertaken to date and was centred on a fossil hot spring.
Kulu
Located ~15 kms SW of Kimbe with several acid to intermediate plutons. Stream sediment sampling delineated two
gold major anomalous areas –Iglik with up to 233 g/t Au in PC and North Iglik with 16.5 g/t Au, plus several others.
At Iglik, bulldozing showed quartz porphyry dykes with quartz-limonite vein stockworks with up to 3m of 4.5 g/t
Au. Three other 3 metre intervals returned values of between 1.03 g/t Au and 1.21 g/t Au. Selective grab sampling
returned up to 5.0 g/t Au. Four inconclusive holes were drilled.
TANGA ELA
Dawal and Sereng Prospects
The I.P. surveys revealed a strong chargeability and resistivity anomaly, almost circular, 250m in diameter, at
Sereng creek. The coincident low resistivity could be an altered zone from a fossil geothermal system. The low
resistivity is open to the southeast. To 1.9 g/t Au in float. Soil are weakly anomalous over most of the surveyed area.
Hand / dozer trenching and limited air core drilling completed, documenting strong hydrothermal alteration,
argillisation, pyritisation, hydraulic fracturing, brecciation, silicification and open vugs infilled with pyrite
indicative of boiling. These were noted in 9 of the 12 holes drilled. The best gold intercept was 2-5m (3m) of 0.23g/t
in hole TDH-6. Volcanic breccia with pyrite and strong limonite clays associated with bleached light coloured (smectite
clays ?) were mapped as similar to sections in the Lihir deposit.
Put Cliff Prospect
Strongly ferruginous weathered (possible smectite clay altered) cliffs were observed west and northwest of Put village.
Fault breccia boulders were found in a creek east of Put village and rocks northeast of the village were described as
having strongly altered groundmass but no noticeable sulphides. No significant assays were obtained and the area was
considered as low priority. Geophysics was abandoned, six air core holes were completed with no significant
mineralisation but major zones of strong hydrothermal alteration (argillisation) and associated pyritisation. The
best gold intercept was 23-24m (1m) of 0.20 g/t from TDH-1.
Main (Central) Range Prospect
Boulders and outcrops of fractured lava and pyroclastics containing up to 20% fine pyrite and silica veined volcanics
with minor sulphides.
Bitlik and Bitbok Islands Prospect
Widespread kaolin-like clays, opal with minor chalcedony and pyrite alteration., plus magnetite to hematite alteration
and leaching in gossanous looking rocks. Strong argillic alteration to NW end of each island and milled breccia
zones with pyritised fragments. The highest rock assay was 0.12ppm gold.
Salkangkis Prospect
The thermal area, with strong bleaching of the surrounding basaltic lava and H2S gas, pyrite being deposited and nearby
thermal activity (~2km E) with As to 175ppm, Hg to 3900ppb and Cu to 288ppm.
NEW HANOVER ELA
A highly prospective, broad discontinuous northwest trending zone of approximately 15 kilometres in length and
an as yet undefined width on the south coast of the island.
There are many prospects and mineralised areas identified by floats and sub-crops of intrusives which have been
hydrothermally altered, brecciated and mineralised by cherty and fine grained silica, quartz, pyrite and
arsenopyrite. Hot springs and anomalous gold in pan concentrates define the zone.
Significant BLEG anomalies in the Sania and Taimo Rivers, quartz veins up to several metres wide contain gold grades
up to 5 g/t. The New Hanover ELA has very good, only marginally tested potential for large `high sulphidation` gold
deposits.
SOUTHERN NEW IRELAND ELA
Danlillian River Prospect
Four by two kilometre area of intense argillic alteration with pan concentrate anomalies and low gold in rocks.
Quartz-alunite, propylite and dickite alteration minerals and low tenor gold at Danlillian are positive indicators of a
high- sulphidation epithermal system and gold is often depleted and its geochemical signature is poor in such an
environment.
Palabong Prospect
Gold in stream sediment and pan concentrates with silicified and clay altered rocks in a large area of intensely
altered granodioritic intrusive / acid volcanics has never been followed up.
Hirudan Prospect
Area of gold in drainages at the south-eastern end of the Palabong/Hirudan Plutonic complex that is prospective for
epithermal vein and disseminated precious metal mineralisation.
Papua New Guinea hosts mega gold mines/ deposits at Lihir (> 45Moz), Porgera (> 26Moz) & Misima (> 5Moz),
porphyry copper/gold deposits such as Ok Tedi (> 10MozAu + 3Mt Cu), Panguna (> 16 Moz Au + 5Mt Cu), Frieda
(> 9Moz Au + 5.3Mt Cu) & Grasberg (Irian Jaya - > 52MozAu+12.5Mt Cu) and nickel/cobalt at Ramu (~220 Mt of
0.98% Ni+0.1% Co) and has a long history of profitable resource developments.
TasGold’s ELAs have mineralisation potential, geologic and structural characteristics similar to the above mines /
deposits.
Australia administered PNG prior to independence in 1975, it has a stable democracy with a Westminster style
democratic government, separation of political and judicial powers, well defined mining / taxation law (based on
Australian models) and English language. The sovereign /country risk levels assigned to PNG are drastically overstated
and TasGold are comfortable working and trying to develop mineral resources there.
TasGold is in a good financial position and will be quite capable of meeting Island Arc Mining Ltd’s expenditure
commitments (Year 1 for all the ELAs is only ~A$600,000) after they are granted. The management team is competent,
accomplished and financially committed to the company’s success.
The ELAs are subject to normal granting procedures, Mining Advisory Board recommendation and Ministerial
discretion.
