Missy, danke für Dein Frankie Miller-Posting. Ich wusste bis vorhin absolut nichts über ihn außer - naja, dass er "Darling" gesungen hat. War mir peinlich, ist doch eigentlich ein großer Name!

Wow, gleich zwei tolle, unverwechselbare Stimmen hintereinander! Von Roger Chapman habe ich lange nix Neues mehr gehört. Einige Chappo-Songs wurden ja hier vor laaanger Zeit mal gepostet ... die witzigen Lyrics von "Mail Order Magic" habe z.B. ich selbst mal reingestellt ....

…. und dass es Paul Rodgers noch gibt, habe ich auch erst durch die Meldung in Bezug auf Queen erfahren. Dabei war Bad Company mal eine Zeitlang meine Lieblingsband -- hauptsächlich wegen der erotischen Stimme von Paul Rodgers. Könnte es sein, Iguana , dass du zufällig mal so was Ähnliches wie eine Zusammenstellung „Paul Rodgers – Through The Ages“ produziert hast .... vielleicht gar mit "Bad Company", "Can`t Get Enough ..." und "Ready For Love" und natürlich den Sachen, die du gerade erwähnt hast ???? Da kenne ich nämlich überhaupt nix davon

Ah, welch klangvolle Namen! Geoff Whitehorn habe ich vor einiger Zeit mit Procol Harum gesehen und auch hier im Thread darüber berichtet. Vorher hatte ich ihn schon einige Male als Gitarristen der "Short List" mit Roger Chapman gesehen.

Höhepunkt dieser Chappo-Konzerte war jedesmal die Zugabe "Let`s Spend The Night Together", die mit der Soft-Version der Stones absolut nichts mehr zu tun hatte, und auch der Text hatte nur einige wenige Gemeinsamkeiten mit dem Original und wechselte zudem von Auftritt zu Auftritt, je nachdem, was Chappo gerade so einfiel.

...mittwoch abend um 21uhr45 läuft in der ARD in der serie „Legenden“ eine dokumentation über eine der bemerkenswertesten performer der musikgeschichte – Freddie Mercury...

...dass Queen nun fast 15 jahre nach seinem tod wieder auf tour unterwegs sind konnte nur mit einer ebenso außergewöhnlichen stimme funktionieren, jemand der es nicht nötig hat Freddie zu kopieren, da seine eigene persönlichkeit stark genug ist – für viele der beste blues-rocksänger aller zeiten, auch "The Soul Of Rock" genannt - Paul Rodgers...
1997 hat er mir dem gitarristen Geoff Whitehorn (heute bei Procul Harum) ein starkes rockalbum namens „Now“ eingespielt mit einer reihe großartiger songs wie „Soul of Love“ oder „I Lost It All“ – ein absoluter höhepunkt ist „All I Want Is You“...

stimmt – erstaunlicherweise leben alle vier noch, wie ich am freitag im rockpalast sehen konnte, wenn man ihnen gewisse missbräuche auch trotz der schminke angesehen hat...

@cockney: gern geschehen – hab inzwischen zwar einen song gefischt, der „Lost Sheep“ hieß, aber das war leider was anderes von der musik her...

@hawkie: stimmt – ich hab auch so ein prog namens „net transport“ zum aufzeichnen von streaming, aber bei dieser website funzt das nicht, da wird eine aufzeichnung verhindert.
der sound von deinen aufnahmen ist um längen besser, als der von den anderen konzerten(die inzwischen tatsächlich entfernt wurden). vor allem überrascht mich dass es auch im ersten teil gut klingt, der ja nicht so gut vom mixer ausgesteuert sein sollte...
klasse was die band aus „Julia“ gemacht hat – viel rockiger von den gitarren als im studio und so ist ein richtiges progrockopus daraus geworden. ansonsten ist das ja leider ein coitus interruptus, der besonders bei „Song Dance“ schmerzhaft ist. das vorspiel läuft noch und bereits vor dem ersten gitarrenriff bricht die übertragung ab...

Moin Igu war ne schwere Geburt, das . Nachdem der Webmaster sehr viel von PD komplett auf seiner site hat, ging er stillschweigend davon aus, auch dies Augsburg-Konzert und ein anderes aus Trier draufpacken zu können. Die Band fand dann das aber so doll doch nicht und wollte zumindest die Aufnahmen vorher mal hören. Ich hab sie dann nach St.Louis gesandt und vor 2, 3 Tagen kam die Antwort, dass das Trier-Konzert gar nicht auf die website soll, da der Ton zu schlecht sei. Und von Augsburg wollten sie von jedem Track nur 2 Minuten online haben, da es wohl - obwohl es sich um streams handelt - ein Einfaches sei, diese downzuloaden. So here we go ... wie gefällt es Dir denn?
