Zitat von thairat: Rare Earth Pricing: Up or Down?
Posted on May 11, 2014 by Jon Hykawy

„ ..., the basic assumptions are that we look for the market to accept about 60,000 tonnes of predominantly “light” REOs from four producers (but it could be five or six smaller projects; the tonnage matters more than numbers of producers) and about 30,000 tonnes of “heavy” production from an additional four producers. This material enters the market over the next five or six years. For purposes of clarity, Molycorp and Lynas are assumed to be in production, and we assume that Great Western gets there, too...".

"On the “heavy” side, we assume that the production comes from Matamec, Ucore, Quest and Serra Verde, a privately-owned ionic clay deposit located in Brazil."

Ausgerechnet Matamec und Quest? Da verlässt sich wohl jemand sehr auf die Lieblinge der medialen Leitwölfe von vor 2-3 Jahren? Quest wird es freuen...

Commerce Resources Corp. Completes Drill Program at the Ashram Rare Earth Deposit, Northern Quebec
Commerce Resources Corp. (TSXv: CCE, FSE: D7H) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the completion of the winter drill program at its 100% owned Ashram Rare Earth Deposit located in Northern Quebec.

The drill program, which commenced in late March, has been completed on schedule and under budget. Final demobilization of field crews is underway. Twelve drill holes were completed for a total of 1,556.61 metres. The drill holes at the Ashram Deposit included:

      1. Nine holes completed as infill on the Ashram Deposit over Centre Pond, focusing on the MHREO Zone, and

      2. Three short geotechnical holes completed peripheral to the deposit to assess the preferred location of the dyke to be emplaced on Centre Pond.

A map illustrating the location of the 2014 drill holes may be viewed here.

      Infill Drilling
The infill drill program was successful with all nine drill holes (1,494.56 metres) collaring in mineralization that continued over their entire length. Each infill drill hole was intentionally ended at a set depth below the base of the proposed pit bottom resulting in each hole bottoming in mineralization. Further, mineralogical and lithological information from several drill holes strongly indicate that the MHREO Zone was intersected over significant widths. Samples are en route to Activation Laboratories of Ancaster, Ontario for analysis. Results will be released when received.

      Geotechnical Drilling
Three short geotechnical holes (total of 62.05 metres) were completed to the east of the deposit; two on Centre Pond and one on land. Information collected included soil type, depth to bedrock, and assessment of bedrock type and competency, which will assist in determining if the proposed dyke location would be adequate. Preliminary results appear positive with information currently being assessed by Roche Ltd.

Additionally, the Company is informed that Secutor Capital Management Corp., an Ontario based licensed investment advisor and broker, has initiated coverage on Commerce Resources. It is the policy of Commerce Resources not to comment on any report, analysis or coverage by registered financial analysts regarding any aspect of our Company.

The Ashram Deposit has a measured and indicated resource of 29.3 million tonnes at 1.90% TREO and an inferred resource of 219.8 million tonnes at 1.88% TREO, based on 57 holes and 16,868 metres drilled. (See news release dated May 24, 2012).

Commerce REO Speedwagons its Ashram Rare Earth Project
Rare earth element (REE) Supply Remains Limited, Concentrated, and Vulnerable. China connues to dominate world REE producon, controlling approximately 90% of the market, despite progress made by Molycorp and Lynas. Although China provided the world with arficially “cheap” REEs for years, its labour costs are increasing, its reserves are depleng, and its mines have been abused to the limit. The costs of producing “cheap” rare earths are becoming increasingly unsustainable in terms of the environment, the availability of reserves, the health of its communies, and the polical ramificaons. China can no longer afford the costs associated with “cheap” rare earths and is beginning to worry about its own domesc supply, as China is its own biggest customer.
The Bottom of the Curve? REE prices have decreased considerably in recent years, although they are generally sll above where they were in 2009, before fears of constrained supply sent prices sky-rockeng. Very lile producon has since come online, implying that REE prices may have over-corrected. Increasing environmental standards, decreasing reserves in China, and minimal new supply indicate that REE prices cannot stay this low indefinitely.

Commerce Resources is one of the most advanced REE juniors in regards to metallurgy, which in the REE space, is everything. The Ashram Project hosts a substanal resource with a well-balanced rare earth oxide (REO) distribuon. The deposit is enriched in light and heavy rare earths, including all five of the crical elements. The mineralogy is simple due to the presence of the minerals monazite, bastnaesite, and xenome which currently dominate commercial processing. Unlike many of its competors, Commerce is able to produce a 43.6% total rare earth oxide (TREO) mineral concentrate due to the deposit’s simple mineralogy, allowing significant cost reducons.
Valuation. A net present value (NPV) per share of CAD$1.44 was calculated for the Ashram Project based on a 10% discounted cash flow (DCF) model. In addion to Ashram, Commerce has an advanced niobium- tantalum project in BC, named Blue River, which was not evaluated in this report. Blue River is compelling in its own right due to recent developments in the tantalum space, however, given that Commerce Resources currently trades at around CAD$0.20 and Ashram yields an aer-tax NPV per share of CAD$1.44, including project financing, Commerce Resources is a stock of interest on the merit of Ashram alone...
