In den SEEKING ALPHA comments zum heutigen FuelCell Geschehen kommt BALLARD gut weg, Tenor: die haben die Patente, den Deal mit Volkswagen, die desperate needs for green technology in China and India ("Smog kills workforce")etc.

Trading in Plug Power (PLUG -8.2%) triggered a securities short-sale circuit breaker earlier this afternoon after shares dropped as much as 9% and more than 17% so far this week following big gains in previous weeks.
PLUG shares opened strong yesterday but faded after Volkswagen shot down rumors of a deal between the two companies.

CNN's Kevin Kelleher worries PLUG is more than just another classic speculative rally run amok - it is a symptom of an increasingly erratic market suggesting not just a tolerance toward but also a growing appetite for deals that can't be rationalized.

Ballard Power Systems (BLDP), which provides fuel cell stacks to PLUG equipment, -7.5%.

Unlike PLUG, BLDP actually DOES have a deal with Volkswagen and is in talks with two other OEMs.

The recent mania in PLUG was misplaced because it actually looks to have a foundation in Ballard which has the IP and diverse applications for their fuel cell technology to become a major player in the clean energy sector.

PLUG is nothing more than a speculative casino stock, I sold my position from $1.66 since I really don't agree with the fundamentals or the future viability of the company's business model as articles or other commentators on SA disclose.

Are people that stupid??? Ballard not only has a 4 year contract with VW but they have 2 other OEMs in talks, as per their last CC. Ballard has most of the FC IP not PLUG. Ballard is and has always been the leader of this technology.

Ballard has service contracts with 7 auto giants. Toyota has validated cold and hot weather operation. In military spec lingo they have validated and verified. .. Meaning they are completing qualification testing in real life conditions outside the lab. Cramer and Dana uses outdated data saying that GE competes in that space. Now you know how desperate shorts are. Plug has 98% of the customer needs to be fulfilled if they want to follow shrewd Walmart& Proctor & Gamble, Sysco, BMW, Wholefoods. Ballard facilities cannot meet all the needs and they Mexico and China to start ramping up. Ballard has qualified these countries to get started. India and China's needs will be awesome. They want to get the Opex and Capex benefits too.

TATA & Reliance and TVS are not far behind. They know what we are doing here. The smog is killing their citizens. America still leads and Cramer still farts like an old man.

The short sale circuit breaker doesn't matter for Ballard. They have only 2.93% short interest. We're probably seeing the result of call interest, and the dreaded margin calls, depressing value early this week. We're hitting the end game on this correction cycle though and I expect BLDP will recover a lot faster than PLUG, which is trading about 4x higher than its competitors based on projected future market capitalization in their sector.

PLUG, on the other hand, is at 35.65% short interest. That's terrifying.

Meine Meinung: BALLARD ist der Blue Chip im Brennstoffzellensegment, aber PLUG hat auch gute Aussichten (s. aktuellen SEEK ALPHA Artikel, mein Posting von heute 14:08:08).

Hätte aufgrund dieses fundierten Kontra - Artikels zum "PLUG fair value = 50 Cent" Blödsinn den Dreh ins Aufwärtsgeschehen schon für heute erwartet - für BALLARD und PLUG.

Dem war leider nicht so - für mich als 70% Langfristmensch folgt daraus: check again at the end of the week (wenn´s mit at the end of the day noch nix geworden ist).
