TOKYO (MarketWatch) - General Motors Corp. may announce as early as Tuesday that it will buy Delphi Corp.'s global steering business, according to a Wall Street Journal report citing people familiar with the plan.
It would be a key move in the ongoing restructuring of both troubled auto companies, the newspaper reported late Monday on its Web site.

Delphi, which has been in bankruptcy protection since October 2005, is GM's largest supplier and is a former subsidiary.
The report said terms of the steering-business deal were not expected to be disclosed Tuesday.
The deal would give GM more control over the production of its vehicles and enable it to step away somewhat from its participation in Delphi's reorganization process, the report said.
Meanwhile, by selling off pieces of its North American unit back to GM, Delphi may be able to lower its leverage. End of Story

Hauptsache wir kriegen über 0.10$ für die Delphi Aktie.
