Gut so.

AURORA GOLD (14 MARCH 2001)
SUMMARY - YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2000
Mt Muro throughput at 1,506,847 tonnes milled, down 3.7% despite severely interrupted mining operations in first half.
Increase of 5% in unit cash operating cost, to $342 per gold equivalent ounce sold, reflecting the depreciation of the AUD against the USD during the year.
Bullion production at Mt Muro of 253,250 gold equivalent ounces which represents the second best annual result since project inception.
Operating profit before income tax and abnormal items of $1.6 million, down from $7.2 million in 1999, primarily as a result of lower realised gold prices.
Cash on hand at year end $37.8 million, an increase of $28.6 million for the year.
Improved confidence of the Hidden Valley Mineral Resource (Morobe Gold Project, PNG) and its increase by 800,000 gold equivalent ounces.
The bankable feasibility study for the Morobe Gold Project extended to permit further consideration of key project issues.
Identification of an initial Mineral Resource of 6.6 Mt at 2.3 g/t Au at Fortitude (Lake Carey, Australia).
AURORA trotz des schwachen Goldpreises in Aussieland mit
relativ starken Umsätzen. Kurs ca. + 9%.
Aber so ist das eben. Die ersten 10-50% % machen eben

Aurora Acquires Wafi Exploration Tenements

AURORA GOLD LIMITED 2001-03-21 ASX-SIGNAL-G
HOMEX - Perth
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Aurora Gold Ltd, today announced an agreement to acquire the Wafi
copper/gold project and exploration tenements in Papua New Guinea`s
Morobe Province, near its 50%-owned Morobe Gold Project.
Under a Heads of Agreement signed today, Aurora will acquire Rio
Tinto`s interests in the Wafi tenements effective from 1 January
2001, although Rio Tinto will continue to manage the project on
Aurora`s behalf until all conditions precedent have been met or
waived.
These conditions include PNG Government consents, a decision by
Aurora to proceed with development of the Morobe Project following
completion of the bankable feasibility study, which is currently in
its final stages, and signing of final sales documentation.
The Wafi tenements cover some 182 sq kms and are situated 40 kms west
southwest of Lae and 55 kms to the north west of the Aurora managed
Morobe Project, that includes the Hidden Valley/Kaveroi Creek
tenements controlled by Morobe Consolidated Goldfields Limited
("MCG").
The consideration for the acquisition comprises a front end sum,
payable should Aurora decide to develop a mine at Wafi, plus a
royalty arrangement covering all future gold and copper production.
Aurora`s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Alan
Scott, said the acquisition of the Wafi tenements would add
considerable value to Aurora`s PNG interests, with the tenements
incorporating a substantial existing resource as well as highly
prospective exploration ground.
The Wafi tenements contain an Indicated and Inferred porphyry
copper/gold Mineral Resource (Rio Tinto, 1996) of 100Mt at 1.3% Cu
and 0.6g/t Au above a cutoff of 0.5% Cu. In addition there is an
Indicated and Inferred epithermal gold Mineral Resource (Australian
Gold Fields, 1997) of 26.1 Mt at 3.5g/t Au above cutoffs varying
between 1.0 to 3.0g/t depending on material type and depth.
The epithermal gold mineralisation is associated with an extensive
hydrothermal system centred about a diatreme complex some 800m in
diameter. Aurora believes that there is considerable potential to
increase both the grade and tonnage of this resource through
extension of known mineralised zones and the location of new
mineralisation adjacent to the diatreme.
The tenement package also contains a number of stream sediment and
pan concentrate gold anomalies identified in the early exploration
phase that have never been followed-up. These anomalies are regarded
as of particular significance with regard to their regional
structural setting.
Aurora plans a full review of all previous exploration before
pursuing an ongoing programme which will include a detailed follow-up
of the neglected drainage anomalies and additional drilling to extend
the known gold resource. This programme will utilise the resources of
Aurora exploration personnel who have particular technical expertise
in large epithermal systems and of implementing effective exploration
programmes in Papua New Guinea and Southeast Asia generally.

INTERVIEW: Australia Aurora Committed To Indonesian Mine
By Ray Brindal
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
CANBERRA (Dow Jones)--Australian-based gold miner Aurora Gold Ltd. (A.ARR) is committed to its Mount Muro project in central Kalimantan, Indonesia, but still wants to sell its suspended Toka Tindung operation in northern Sulawesi, Chief Executive Alan Scott said Tuesday.
Indeed, Aurora, which is 35%-owned by global mining giant Rio Tinto PLC (RTP), is evaluating and clarifying details of offers for Toka Tindung, he said.
"I don`t think it will be a long time before we`ve actually got something to announce there," he told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview.
Rio Tinto acquired its stake in Aurora following its acquisition of Australia`s Ashton Mining Ltd. in 2000.
Aurora put its 85%-owned Toka Tindung gold project on care and maintenance in September 1999, when in a major period of unrest in Indonesia, the satellite Talawaan operation was overrun by thousands of illegal miners.
It announced early in 2001 it wanted to sell the project, which has been written off completely in the company accounts, to stem the "cash bleed" and to focus on other interests.
Scott believes a sale of Aurora`s interest in Toka is possible, despite the illegal miners remaining at Talawaan and a lack of action by authorities to resolve the problem.
That is because Talawaan is isolated geographically from the main Toka mine site, and because Toka needs to be mechanically mined.
"It`s those two combinations that give us a possibility" to sell, he said, while admitting any sale will be difficult.
"The viability of an operation at Toka isn`t affected by the loss of Talawaan," he said.
The company is seeking a buyer as soon as possible that is prepared to explore the area further and provide Aurora with an income if and when mining is resumed, he said.
Scott agreed an Indonesian company will have more leverage over authorities to resume operations.
Aurora was hard hit as lawlessness hit many parts of Indonesia in recent years. It posted a A$93.9 million loss in fiscal 1999, with most of this coming from a full 100% or A$67 million writedown of its Toka Tindung assets.
To Unveil Promising Exploration At Mt Muro
The company also wrote off A$30 million from the value of its Mt. Muro operations in Kalimantan in 1999, but remains committed to the project.
Mt. Muro gold equivalent output jumped 13% to 253,250 ounces in 2000 from 224,085 ounces in 1999.
This lift in production occurred despite serious constraints by illegal mining in the first half of calendar 2000, which corresponds to its fiscal year, the company said.
Since then things have been quiet following action by nearby communities and authorities against illegal miners, who remain in the area, Scott said.
But overall "touch wood things are extremely good there," he said.
Now, he said, Aurora has pushed a lot more money into exploration at Mt. Muro and intends to provide details of new exploration success at the project at Wednesday`s scheduled annual general meeting in Perth.
The Mt. Muro contract of work area was previously believed to cover two volcanic areas only, he said.
"We believe there`s a third there and identified it and have actually got some good results," that will be announced at the meeting, he said.
"It`s given us a new lease of life" for this operation, he said. "There are just numerous advantages to stretch that one out as long as we can."
Meanwhile, Aurora remains focused on its 50%-owned Morobe project near Lae in Papua New Guinea.
"We`re all working flat out on that," he said.
Morobe has an ore resource of more than 5.0 million gold equivalent ounces.
Completion of a bankable feasibility study on this project is scheduled by the end of May.

vorstellen, daß unter 0,12 kein Umsatz zustandekommen wird.
Es entsteht ein dept-free ungehedgter Goldproduzent
