Nachdem der Kurs in den letzten Wochen regelrecht verprügelt wurde, bieten sich jetzt wieder gute Einstiegsmöglichkeiten.

Heute Nacht meldete Tyco, daß sie ein eigenes "global undersea fiber optic communications network" errichten.

Dies wird über Tyco Submarine Systems (100% Tochter von Tyco) geschehen. 20 %dieser Tochterfirma soll anschliessend im Rahmen eines IPO an die Börse gebracht werden.

Da NY ja gestern geschlossen war, ist diese Meldung noch nicht in den Kursen enthalten. Das sollte heute in NY für Kursphantasie sorgen.

Ratings für Tyco buy oder besser.

Tyco hat heute Zahlen präsentiert die über den Erwartungen liegen. Desweiteren hat man ein Aktienrückkaufprogramm angekündigt.

Hydromer Announces New Contract With Tyco Healthcare Group LP
BRANCHBURG, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2000--Hydromer, Inc. announces its has entered into a manufacturing and supply agreement with Tyco Healthcare Group LP, a business unit of Tyco International (NYSE: TYC) to continue to supply HydromerLubricious medical coatings for Tyco Healthcare Products Urology products and Enteral Feeding Tube products.
While the exact terms of the agreement were not disclosed, Hydromer will supply lubricious coatings pursuant to non-cancelable purchase orders under the agreement for a minimum of two years.

Morgan Crucible<MCGR.L> sells unit to Tyco
LONDON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - UK industrial materials group Morgan Crucible Co. Plc said on Wednesday it agreed to sell its Power Industry Products Division to Tyco International Ltd <TYI.L> <TYC.N> for 44 million pounds ($69.89 million).
Morgan Crucible said the sale of the unit to Tyco, which makes electronic components and fire detection systems, was on a debt and cash free basis. It said that it expected the deal, subject to any necessary regulatory approvals, to be completed by March 10.

AMSTERDAM, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Philips Electronics NV said on Monday it had signed a letter of intent to sell its Projects business to diversified U.S. manufacturer Tyco.
Philips announced its intention to divest the unit, with sales of about 300 million euros, last September. No financial details were given. The unit provides integrated electronic solutions for infrastructure projects.

Critchley<CTY.L> continues to recommend Tyco offer
LONDON, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Critchley Group Plc <CTY.L>, a UK electrical equipment firm, said on Monday it was still recommending Tyco Electronics Ltd`s <TYC.N> takeover offer since rival bidder Brady Corp <BRC.N> had not increased its own bid.
Critchley recommended a 750-pence-per-share offer from Tyco, which makes electronic components and fire detection systems, on February 14. Tyco`s offer valued the firm at 122.5 million pounds ($196 million).
Brady, a U.S. firm which like Critchley supplies labels for electrical cables and components, said on February 15 it would not make a revised offer for Critchley following Tyco`s 122.5 million pound bid. Brady`s bid for Critchley, launched on January 26, was worth 576 pence per share.
Tyco said in a statement on February 14 its takeover of Critchley would create one of the largest cable identification companies in the world, and would immediately enhance its earnings.
Shares in Critchley have soared since the bids were made, gaining more than twice in value from 350p at the start of January to an all-time high of 742-1/2p in February.
Warburg Dillon Read, the investment banking unit of UBS AG, is advising Critchley on the bid. ING Barings is advising Tyco, while Close Brothers is advising Brady Corp.
Critchley shares were unchanged at 1000 GMT, trading at 740p.

hoffe auch, dass die wieder mehr in den Blickpunkt kommen

Hallo burky,

die 40$ scheinen echt ein harter Brocken zu sein. Bei z.B. Yahoo oder Consors steht die Tyco mit 1.09 bei den Analystenmeinungen. 14 mal strongbuy und 2 mal buy. D.h. doch eigentlich kauf oder stirb. Wenn man den Analysten glauben kann?

Meiner Meinung nach steckt auf jeden Fall noch viel Potential in der Glasfasertechnik von Tyco.

Auf das sie weiter steige!

Hi logger 4t4,
ich sehe die Sache im Prinzip genauso. Potential hat das Teil, sonst wäre ich nicht eingestiegen. Mir kommt es nur so vor, als ob bei 40 die Gewinnmitnahmen einsetzen. Mich würden die Verkaufslimits interessieren, aber man kommt ja wohl nicht dran. Ich persönlich habe mir 43 als Ziel gesetzt, aber es ist m.E. noch viel mehr drin

Wenn Du wissen willst, was ein Block Trade ist:
das ist ein Handel mit sehr grossem Volumen, der meistens an der Börse "vorbei" durchgeführt wird, um zu hohe Kursausschläge zu vermeiden. Der Abschlag ist nötig, damit es überhaupt zu einer Gegenseite kommt.

In den USA gelten Einzelabschluesse ab 10.000 Stueck als blocktrades. Es gibt sogar eine spezielle Statistik dafuer. Blocktrades werden natuerlich von den sog. institutions (also Fonds, pension funds) getaetigt. Ein Fehlen von blocktrades in einem bestimmten Wert deutet auf Desinteresse seitens professioneller Anleger hin, hohes blocktrade Volumen eben umgekehrt. Interessant ist der Uebergang von retail auf inst.driven Volumen, d.h. die Aktien wird von den Big Guns entdeckt. Dies zieht sich meistens ueber mehrere Tage/Wochen hin.

In Dtschld. bezeichne ich block trades als Einzelumsaetze ueber
E 100.000.

So, jetzt hoffe ich, daß sich dieser Handel auch positiv auf den Kurs auswirkt.

New York, March 8 (Bloomberg) -- Tyco International Ltd., the
world`s largest electronic-connector maker, expects to make
acquisitions valued at several billion dollars this year.
A ``couple`` of the purchases will be for more than $500
million, Chief Executive Dennis Kozlowski said at a conference.
Recent declines in the share prices of industrial companies amid
concern about higher interest rates have made acquisitions more
attractive, he said.
Tyco`s shares have dropped about 19 percent since October,
when an analyst questioned the company`s accounting for its more
than $30 billion in acquisitions. The stock has risen in recent
weeks on expectations an informal U.S Securities and Exchange
Commission inquiry will show Tyco`s books are clean.
The company doesn`t know when the SEC will conclude the
investigation, Kozlowski said. The uncertainty shouldn`t delay
Tyco`s plan to sell shares of its undersea fiber-optic cable unit
later this year, he said.
Tyco, which is run from executive offices in Exeter, New
Hampshire, is also the world`s biggest fire and security systems
provider, the biggest maker of undersea fiber-optic cable and the
largest maker of industrial valves.
The shares rose 2 to 41 1/2 on the New York Stock Exchange.

New York, March 9 (Bloomberg) -- Tyco International Ltd., the
world`s largest maker of electronic connectors, said it`s
considering selling shares to the public in its businesses that
make wireless-network semiconductors and fiber-optics.
Tyco said in January it would to sell a 20 percent stake in
its Submarine Systems unit, the world`s biggest maker of undersea
fiber-optic cable, as part of its plan to build the biggest
undersea network, called TyCom Global Network.
After shares in the cable business begin to trade, Tyco will
decide whether to repeat the process with its business that sells
semiconductors for wireless networks and makes fiber-optic
components for land-based networks, Chief Executive Dennis
Kozlowski said at a Schroder & Co. conference yesterday.
The company`s shares rose 3 3/16 to 45 3/16 in midafternoon
trading. They have dropped about 13 percent since October, when an
analyst questioned the company`s accounting of more than
$30 billion in Tyco acquisitions over a three-year period.
In recent weeks, the shares have rebounded as investors
become less concerned that an informal U.S Securities and Exchange
Commission inquiry will turn up any questionable accounting at the
company, analysts said. Anticipation for the offering of stock
Tyco Submarine Systems also has boosted Tyco International stock.
Tyco, also the world`s biggest provider of fire and security
systems and the largest maker of industrial valves, is based in
Hamilton, Bermuda, and run from executive offices in Exeter, New
Hampshire.
