Good announcement and great to hear confirmation the next run is imminent. This appears to be the final step towards signing off on the MOU.
Alcoa paying for the latest fit-out and I believe someone mentioned the bill was circa $400,000 - not insignificant.
A couple of comments stood out for me

So the pilot run will validate the improvements that will lead to increased output, OPEX etc.

FYI is positioning itself to be a significant producer of 4N and 5N HPA in the rapidly developing high tech product markets

The changes in wording are interesting on the above. As @Tcb007 rightly pointed out we were saying FYI is progressing positively with its objective of being a leading global producer of high-quality 4N and 5N HPAonly a few weeks ago.

Look out for the info on the other HPA applications we are working on shortly. So far it's our stock HPA product we have mentioned however the last presentation for the first time showed the other applications for HPA and these are the ones we have a real advantage over the traditional bauxite process produced HPA due to our superior characteristics.

I am convinced we are also collaborating with some sort of anode or cathode producer in relation to a possible new product to market for the EV Battery too. Completely IMO that one but it would make sense strategically to take it to the next step for me to add another string to the bow.

HPA is just still completely misunderstood by the broader market still. Roly has commented to me that he feels sorry for the new entrants to market in the HPA space as our tech team is second to none and it has taken us years of R&D to get to where we are now. We have a competitive advantage. Not to say no one else can make it but it is not easy to produce HPA at high grade with the right characteristics.

Just on the potential increase to project economics, this is the DFS numbers again

So in AUD at current rate of 74c the above is 733m AUD for 25 years.
But if you start adjusting numbers such as:
      - Reducing OPEX
-Increase production to 12,000tpa or more
      - The price per tonne of HPA assumption is 24,000. I'm convinced this is quite conservative. Let's say we even get an increase there t0 30,000pt

Bottom line is it turning into an AUD multi-billion dollar NPV
And then throw in the other 'things' Roly is working on with Alcoa.

It's going to get pretty evident how big this can get fairly quickly once the JV with Alcoa is finalised. It will be a game changer.

I agree with @Scottj15 we will be the leader in due course and those looking from afar need to decide fairly quickly if they want in on the ride.

The largest Alumina producer in the world is fully funding the pilot plant refurbishment and it's not price sensitive - lol.

      * Working together, FYI and Alcoa aim to validate the HPA flowsheet for technical and economic purposes
      * The cost of refurbishment of the FYI pilot plant and operation of the trial is being funded by Alcoa
      * There is the potential to improve the project economics and over-all HPA strategy as a result of Alcoa’s involvement, due to their high technical standards and extensive alumina operating experience. This may result in refinements to the flow sheet, materials of construction and handling and other potential enhancements to the process.

Things are going to ramp up shortly - just a reminder that we are the founding member @ FBICRC. I've cut and pasted an article below from yesterdays WA news.

FYI is a founding member and partner of the Western Australian government’s $135m Future Batteries Industries Cooperative Research Centre (FBI CRC) based out of Curtin University in Perth.
The FBI CRC research partnership of 58 industry, academic and government partners was established to:
      • value add to WA’s strategic battery minerals industry
      • address industry-identified gaps in the battery industries value chain
      • leverage Australia’s battery knowledge, expertise and innovation into commercial applications WA Resources Minister, Bill Johnston, announced a new research report that found Western Australia was well placed to support the battery related critical minerals industry and capable of developing an integrated battery manufacturing industry.
FYI could gain considerable benefit from Australia’s emerging battery supply chain as the sole FBI - CRC HPA participant that is fully integrated within Western Australia.

WA planning one of world's longest continuous electric car networks under climate policy

Mark McGowan announced the plans for a major extension of WA's electric vehicle network.(ABC News: Hugh Sando)
      Share

Western Australia plans to build one of the longest continuous electric vehicle networks in the world and has committed $100 million to a previously-mooted battery to stabilise the power network.
      Key points:

It is hoped the network will see an uptick in electric cars on WA roads
Labor also plans to buy a $100 million battery to help stabilise the power grid
But conservationists say the policies will not control carbon pollution

They are part of a suite of measures worth $300 million the WA Government has announced as part of its climate policy, with the "aspirational" aim of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
But the Conservation Council of WA said the policy failed the key test on cutting pollution, because it did not set legislated targets to reduce greenhouse gasses.
To encourage people to buy electric cars, the Government will spend $21 million building Australia's longest electric vehicle fast-charging network.

"You'll be able to drive from Esperance to Perth, out to Kalgoorlie if you want, or north to Kununurra," Innovation and ICT Minister Dave Kelly said.
There are currently 1,500 electric vehicles in WA, equating to 1 per cent of all vehicles in the state.
"It is estimated that the cost of electric vehicles will actually meet the costs of conventional vehicles sometime in the next five to 10 years, so it's actually very soon," Mr Kelly said.
"But you've got to make sure the infrastructure is ready."
The State Government has also committed to buying 25 per cent electric vehicles for the state fleet when possible, a move that will involve installing EV charging stations in government buildings.
      Mega-battery to 'stabilise' grid

The Government has committed more than $100 million to a 100 megawatt battery in Kwinana, with the battery set to equal the size of 22 tennis courts.
It will be designed to store excess solar energy and stabilise the power network.
"It will ensure that for up to two hours up to 160,000 households can be powered if needed," Environment Minister Stephen Dawson said.

Environment Minister Stephen Dawson says the battery will help support the power network.(ABC News: Hugh Sando)
A contract to build the battery is due to be awarded by May 2021, and the Government estimates the battery could be built and working by September 2022.
The climate strategy also includes $15 million for carbon farming to store carbon in the environment, and a total of $28 million towards a hydrogen fund and hydrogen projects.
Premier Mark McGowan said because hydrogen could be produced using sea water and solar energy, it could provide an endless source of renewable base load power, which countries like Japan and South Korea were very interested in.

Mr McGowan tried his hand at plugging in an electric vehicle as he unveiled the policy.(ABC News: Hugh Sando)
"This will mean Western Australia can continue this development pathway to create potentially one of biggest industries in the world in coming years and make sure that we have base load power that is produced in a renewable way and is reliable at all times of the day and night," he said.
Mr Dawson said he was confident WA did not need to legislate for net zero emissions because the Government was working well with industry, adding companies such as FMG and Woodside were already on board.
"They are on the same trajectory," Mr Dawson said.
