Wenn dir der Erfolg recht gibt dann ist das zu verkraften. Ich hab doch auch zwei Jahre hier dagegen angekaempft. 🤠

Mögt ihr euch noch an die Kritik einiger selbst ernannter Profis hier erinnern? Wieso sind die Big Player nicht schon auf die Idee gekommen Koalin als Rohstoff zu nutzen. Da wurde FYI im Sekundentakt nieder gemacht.

Here's my take on this announcement re the further development trials - this is big news.
For starters we wouldn't have released the announcement tonight ordinarily - but the speeding ticket forced us to as it was ready to be announced, possibly in the morning but if not any day.
But the main part.
These next trials will be with Aloca right with us conducting the pilot. For any newbies to FYI that have not seen this here's some info on Alcoa, likely to be our JV partner. Watch the video but take particular note of the commentary from about 2m 50ish. Note that FYI are in Kwinana, right next to their global technical team of 70. Sorry to those that have seen this already but it's worth another look anyway.
Basically our team and their team would have been reviewing our learning from pilot run 1, pilot run 2 and all of the IP that Alcoa bring to the table.
For now Alcoa do not want to be mentioned as being included in these trials... but they will be front and centre - don't worry about that.
We will include the enhancements as mentioned in the announcement..... and on this occasion I EXPECT the results to be even better grade than our previous runs because this time we will be going for it. And regarding the charactersitics of the HPA I bet Alcoa are saying "right, if we can achieve this or that that then thats even more impressive and we will pay more in the JV for that. These results will impact the overall make up and $ of the JV.
All going well the outcomes will be
- a very high grade 9's product (possible 5N?)
- confirmation of improvements that will improve CAPEX and OPEX numbers or show the potential for us to increase our annual production from 8,000 tones.
- product refinement as per specified by bespoke customers
And if these areas are nailed then Alcoa will likely then say ok, we are willing for you to disclose more to the market now (it's a brand and reputation thing). Headline: FYI achieves X, Y, Z which is unbelievable and Alcoa was there adding value.
My understanding is they are sold on our flowsheet. And we know it's a process that has been used since the 1940's... with tweaks of course so it has to a degree been proven on a larger scale already. And we are the only fully integrated HPA potential producer in Australia, that control would be really important to them and not being reliant on 3rd parties.
The HPA market is diversified as we know and I don't want to keep just keep focusing on EV as the LED and other markets are just as important.
But there are car manufacturers out there making the transition to EV vehicles who are developing their technology including battery and they want to beat each other so will be testing a lot of technology including the HPA side of things. And FYI have been a part of the research organisation in WA who have been working on research in the EV battery space now for a few years. So our learning there and what we would bring to the table in how our HPA could prove a differentiator in the market would also be a value add for FYI.
It's all a bit of a perfect storm, can't wait for this next run to start. Just a shame the announcement had to come tonight and not in the morning - but I'm sure it won't be missed anyway.
