      Hallo zusammen,

es ist soweit, eine australische Internet Gambling Company wird von den Amerikanern "angeklagt".

      December 17, 1999

      Internet gambling complaint filed
      By Cy Ryan

      SUN CAPITAL BUREAU

CARSON CITY -- The state Gaming Control Board Thursday filed a complaint against a Las Vegas company, charging that it allowed an Australian subsidiary to accept illegal Internet bets.

It was the first such disciplinary action brought in Nevada.

The 13-count complaint asks that fines be imposed for each violation against American Wagering Inc. and its subsidiary, Megasports PTY. LTD., for violating the regulation that prohibits Internet betting.

Victor Salerno, president of American Wagering, could not be reached for comment. But Bob Barengo, a lobbyist for American Wagering, said it will challenge the complaint. American Wagering has 20 days to answer the allegations, deny them, ask for a hearing or negotiate a settlement.

Megasports is licensed in Australia to conduct Internet gambling in that country.

The complaint says a control board agent in Las Vegas, using the bogus name of James Lawrence, used the Internet to open a $100 wagering account with Megasports. The money was deducted from the credit card account of Lawrence.

Between July 23 and Aug. 4, Lawrence placed 12 bets on Major League Baseball teams. At the end, he had a balance of $114 in the Megasports account.

Lawrence then sent an e-mail to Megasports asking to cash out and to send the balance to an address in the United States. He followed that up with a telephone call.

During the telephone conversation, an employee of Megasports said the money could be sent anywhere in the world but that bets could not be made from within the United States. Because Lawrence was located in the United States, the employee asked him to fax a birth certificate to Megasports. A fake birth certificate was faxed.

A day later, Megasports sent an e-mail to Lawrence saying the account had been locked until further notice. Nine days later, Salerno sent a letter to Lawrence saying, "Megasports hereby rescinds all wagers placed by you over the Internet through your account with Megasports."

The letter asked how Lawrence wanted his original $100 deposit returned, even though he had $114 coming.

Barengo said the agent actually went through Canada on the Internet to place the wagers. "They tried to get in through the United States and couldn`t," he said. The connected to Megasports through a Canadian Internet service provider known as Netover Inc.

It`s true, Barengo said, that the gaming agent made bets. But he was told that the company was checking to make sure the betting was legal.

The complaint said the Australian subsidiary of American Wagering failed to obtain verification of the identify of the board agent when he opened the wagering account.

"American Wagering failed to exercise discretion and sound judgment to prevent incidents which might reflect on the repute of the state of Nevada and act as a detriment to the development of the gaming industry," it said.

The complaint, drafted by Deputy Attorney General Derek Harmer, said each time the Australian subsidiary took a bet, it broke the law, which is a misdemeanor.

State regulations prohibit betting by fax, telephone or the Internet.

Robhewes got me into the spirit so here goes my monthly repost, updated of course....

If you are new to this board & or truly want good solid research on Snmm....you must go back O, say about 150,000 posts! This alone should tell you of exponential upward potential of this stock. At one time well PRIOR to all of the big gains I might add(late `98 & early 99`)this board was nothing less than artful. Well over 170,000 posts now & yes as of late, the majority are sophmoric bashes. However, it still is worth mentioning that people still seem to post here...why is that?

Ask yourselves this one question...are these bashers really here to help you & others out? Give me a break..they are self-serving & nothing else. Why would someone spend so much time trying save others on a internet bulletin board? What are their true motivations you should be asking yourselves?

You can check out my earlier posts & see how long I`ve been mostly lurking here. Thank god I have the Snmm Isle board to go back to after being here. No, it is NOT a rah-rah board there either. Especially as of late, however, it is a very good place to civily exchange & discuss matters in a logical manner which is not the case for the most part on this thread anymore....Again, go back 10s of thousands of posts & you will see what great info. has been exchanged at one time on this board...judge for yourself. I really hope this board can get back to its` earlier form. This is why many insightful posters from this board have left...but mark my words, they are not gone forever. Once things mellow out here a bit watch these bashers/nay sayers dissappear into their SHORTS never to come out again. Hang in there all & DO YOUR OWN DD! Trust nobody but yourself. I have nothing to gain here by stating this. I only post this because I truly hope & think that some newbies to this board will see this & think twice before A) responding to worthless posts on this board...responding to these posters only plays into their hand & gives them more attention...that is what they want...DON`T give it to them & B) see the real value of this company. Revs up 377% while posting an eps of .01 during times of termoil shows tremendous strength for a young & profitable pure internet play.

Remember, many successful companies that have generated massive amounts of working capital at one time have gone to court & LOST or paid fines. Did that take them out? no way, not even close. Now look where some of these companies are..does Microsoft ring a bell? How about the tobacco companies? The list goes on here folks but you get the picture. To date Snmm hasn`t even lost. They may pay a fine or two but considering the steady WORKING revenue stream here that continues to flow, these fines will amount to nothing more than squat. I can also in utter confidence & without hesistation also say that NO JAIL time by any hi level employee will EVER be done here..NOT A CHANCE!

Thanks for endulging me here as this post was lengthy. However, I hope it TRULY helped those who are nervous about the recent events & those who may be considering jumping in at these bargain basement prices. Long term you can`t go wrong here...of course it is just my opinion as you should as always do your own proper DD to judge for yourself. The Hampster Dance is still alive & well...go back several thousand posts to find out what this is in case you do not know.

Good luck & I will see all you longs on the Isle in due time. It has not sunk..just moved a little farther out that`s all but we will get there. So I hope you all sit back, RELAX & enjoy the ride. PEACE to all who have endured this board & thanks to all longs who have stayed here to fight the good fight. Good things WILL come to this company & its shareholders once again.

BE PATIENT & STAY THE COURSE.

... dieses Posting von Robhewes gehört selbstverständlich mit aufgeführt.

Through all the hysteria that the bashers try to create on this board, there is one thing that us reasonable folk may want to keep in mind. Levy`s law suit, which started all this mess, and the RCMP raid, which is the major stumbling block to our stock price--- hookey though it may have been--- all occurred around the month of August. Now, let me see. September, October, November, December. Four-and-a-half-months. Yes, we are talking less than half-a-year here. I know when we follow this company on a day by day basis, four-and-a-half months seems like a lifetime almost. It literally seems hard to remember the days when Starnet was a high flier. But four-and-a-half months is really nothing in assessing the longtime growth of a company. Look at the charts. Some great companies remain in a downward cycle for years. I remember the days when Intel and MCI Comunications were getting batted around. I remember when the Japanese were flooding the market with semiconductors, and it was felt that Micron Technology would never recover. Look where all three of them are now. And these are companies that were facing very real problems at the time their stock price languished for months on end. It was felt that their competition was superior, or maybe just overwhelming. Now, let me ask you. Does anyone on this board feel that Starnet`s competition is superior or overwhelming? Get real. Was all of the dirtiness that took Starnet down backed by powerful foes with strong competing products or a legitimate disabling complaint against this up and coming company? Get even realer. Starnet was taken down by an overwhelming run of fear and nothing else. The great imagined boogeyman! It`s products and business model have not been challenged. It`s expansion and growing market share continue unabated. It`s research and development was not hindered at all. It`s progress in every phase of internet gambling continues as before. So, fellow investors, do not let a brief moment in time in the history of this great company throw you asunder. Starnet`s current problems are mostly all imagined, not real. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BASIC INNER-WORKING OF THE COMPANY. As FDR once said, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." In our current vision of Starnet, this is a good policy to live by.

... so jetzt seit ihr dran, ich halte mich erstmal wieder zurück.

      Beste Grüße
