Environmental lawsuits may shut down the MCP CA mine project!!!!!!!! The efforts to protect the beloved and endangered desert tortoise already have led to a ONE YEAR EXTENSION of the EIS until the END OF THIS YEAR--in typical MCP fashion when it comes to the environment, MCP did a slip-shod job and must now redo--check out the environmental hell they left in New Mexico! This is all SUPER NEWS FOR LYNAS, that now just might have a TOTAL MONOPOLY ON THE NON-CHINESE MARKETS FOR YEARS before any other major ree miner can come online! And Lynas begins shipping refined ores by the mounds in just months at a time when prices are sky high! PREPARE FOR JUMPS! SAVE THE DESERT TORTOISE!
Was curious to see the impact of the new export taxes on the Lynas basket price.
Assumptions:
- Use REO prices on Lynas Website as at 17/01/2011
- Lanthanum and Cerium go from 0% to 25% export tax
- Neodymium goes from 15% to 25% export tax
- new export taxes have not yet been applied by China (assuming these will apply from 5/2/2011)
- FOB prices include export taxes (which they should)
- adjust total calculated price (based on Lynas website prices) upwards by 1.05% to allow for other unpriced REO's to get basket price
Adjusted REO Prices as a result of tax increases
- Neodymium price goes from $94.00/kg to $102.17/kg (1.25/1.15*94)
- Lanthanum price goes from $80/kg to $100/kg (1.25/1*80)
- Cerium price goes from $67.10/kg to $83.88/kg (1.25/1*67.1)
Adjusted Basket Price
The increases in the taxes above will result in the current basket price rising from $79.90 to $94.51 - which is equivalent to an 18% increase in the basket price

Lawsuit can halt two major San Bernardino County projects
A lawsuit filed in Los Angeles federal court by a national environmental group has the potential to shut down two major San Bernardino County projects.
The complaint filed Jan. 14 by Western Watersheds Project specifically names only the Ivanpah Solar Power Plant being built by BrightSource in the desert near the California-Nevada line. It could also end up shutting down or delaying Molycorp Mining's resumption of mining and processing of rare earths at its Mountain Pass facility adjacent to the 15 Freeway about 10 miles from Nevada.
Was meint ihr dazu?

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 40.910.961 von FaxenClown am 24.01.11 00:27:59so isses. Danke.
LOL!
