Zur Ehrenrettung von Musk: wir sehen oben wohl nur die RedMed 'Beatmungsgeräte'. Möglich, dass die Medtronic und Philips, die Tesla ebenso gekauft haben soll dann echte Beatmungsgeräte sind.

These ventilators were purchased by Tesla from China. "China had an oversupply, so we bought 1,255 FDA-approved ResMed, Philips & Medtronic ventilators," Musk said.

Elon Musk Has Played An Extremely Dangerous Game
https://jalopnik.com/elon-musk-has-played-an-extremely-dange…
Dennoch interessant.

Trump to rollback Obama-era standards that encouraged automakers to produce electric vehicles
The move will raise the ceiling on damaging fossil fuel emissions, gutting one of the United States’ biggest efforts against climate change
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trump-to-rollback-obama-er…
...
The Trump administration is expected to release a final rule Tuesday on mileage standards through 2026. The change — making good on the rollback after two years of Trump threatening and fighting states and a faction of automakers that opposed the move — waters down a tough Obama mileage standard that would have encouraged automakers to ramp up production of electric vehicles and more fuel-efficient gas and diesel vehicles.
“When finalized, the rule will benefit our economy, will improve the U.S. fleet’s fuel economy, will make vehicles more affordable, and will save lives by increasing the safety of new vehicles,” Environmental Protection Agency spokeswoman Corry Schiermeyer said Monday, ahead of the expected release.

Coronavirus drives U.S. March auto sales off a cliff
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-autos-sales/coronavir…
DETROIT (Reuters) - U.S. new vehicle sales likely drove off a cliff in March as the coronavirus pandemic pounded consumer confidence and shuttered dealerships across much of the country, and sales are likely to take a further beating in April as social distancing guidelines remain in place.
“When you look at March, we basically lost half the month,” said Eric Lyman, chief industry analyst at car-shopping website TrueCar.com (TRUE.O).
TrueCar has forecast a sales drop for March of 37 percent and Lyman said sales in April could also be off between 50 percent to 60 percent.
A rebound for the sector will likely depend on how long the crisis lasts and what level of support the U.S. government provides for consumers in the meantime.
Most major automakers, including General Motors Co (GM.N) and Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T), are due to report quarterly U.S. sales on April 1. Ford Motor Co (F.N) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCHA.MI) will report sales on April 2.
Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) also typically reports first quarter deliveries during the week after the quarter ends. Analysts had expected the company to deliver about 93,000 vehicles during the quarter, according to Refinitiv.

Tesla employee working at Gigafactory tests positive for COVID-19
https://mynews4.com/news/local/tesla-employee-working-at-gig…
STOREY COUNTY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — An email sent to Panasonic employees on Sunday, Mar. 29 states a Tesla employee working at the Gigafactory, east of Sparks, tested positive for COVID-19.
The email goes on to say the employee was onsite at the Gigafactory for one hour on Mar. 21 before going home sick. The employee has been at home since that time.
The specific production area where this individual worked has no connection with the Panasonic production processes.
The email states that Tesla has a safety protocol for this scenario: "This has been activated and includes 14-day quarantine for particular employees identified by their EHS team and certain cleaning measures."
As of Sunday, there are no confirmed cases of the coronavirus on the Panasonic side of the Gigafactory.
On Thursday, Mar. 26, Storey County manager Austin Osborne said that Tesla would be reducing its on-site staff by nearly 75 percent in the coming days. Osborne also thanked other companies at the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center for their roles in keeping the supply chain running and keeping employees safe.
Panasonic began shutting down operations at the Gigafactory earlier this week.

SoftBank-backed OneWeb files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan, cuts jobs
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-oneweb-bankruptcy-idUSKBN…
...OneWeb, the satellite operator backed by Japan’s SoftBank Group Corp (9984.T), said it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to pursue a sale of its business and has cut its workforce amid the coronavirus outbreak.
OneWeb is in negotiations for debtor-in-possession financing, which if acquired and approved by the court will support its ongoing business, the company said in a statement that did not mention how many jobs were being cut.
The company also said it had been in talks for funding since the beginning of the year but the process had stalled due to the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
“Our current situation is a consequence of the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis,” Chief Executive Officer Adrian Steckel said, referring to the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus that emerged from China late last year.
The satellite operator estimated assets in the range of $1 billion to $10 billion and liabilities in the same range, according to a filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
The firm has launched 74 satellites including 34 from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan in early February to provide high-speed internet access using satellite communications.
