20th March 2013 ITM Power plc.
Perfectly positioned for the hydrogen revolution
(Intro Only)
ITM has woven itself into the fabric of early stage hydrogen infrastructure when global politics and economics point toward hydrogen as a key enabler for large scale clean energy and transport. The recent power-to-gas deal for renewable energy storage with German utility the Thüga Group is potentially transformational for both ITM and Germany’s energy infrastructure. ITM’s technology and strategy have positioned it excellently for the growth of a global hydrogen economy. Further high-profile announcements, including a first sale into the strategically key Japanese market, demonstrate ITM is truly through the commercialisation phase and is a ‘real business’ with first-mover sales in what are shaping as global mass markets. ITM punches above its weight and we see real value in the stock at current levels.
ITM’s power-to-gas deal with Thüga is transformational.
On March 13th ITM announced a power-to-gas plant sale to the Thüga Group; Germany’s largest network of energy companies with circa 100 municipal utility members. Thüga Group CTO Michael Riechel said: “We have calculated that the municipal natural gas network is capable of storing ALL future generated excess renewable energy.” The initial system stores 360kW (125kg hydrogen/day). Operational data will be shared throughout the group. ITM’s technology is proven, and if Thüga move forward we estimate it may require up to 500MW of storage capacity, which equates to 500 of ITM’s containerised 1MW power-to-gas units. From market available data we estimate pricing at c. £1.75m and a c. 40% gross margin. The potential relevance of this deal alone to ITM is clear.
Potential German power-to-gas market opportunity for ITM is significant.
ITM won a competitive tender for a power-to-gas deal with the Thüga Group, who supply to roughly 5% of the German population. The total wind capacity of the country is 24GW (30% total peak) and to be fully accommodated at low demand periods over 1/3 of this, or circa 10GW of capacity, may need to be diverted into storage. This is equivalent to circa 10,000 of ITM’s 1MW containerised gas-to-power systems. At an estimated price of £1.75m on a circa 40% gross margin this is a potential £17.5bn revenue and £7bn gross profit opportunity to ITM. The fact that the company has already won a competitive tender with one German utility increases the chance it will repeat with others. The solar market is of similar size.
The embodiment of a value clean-tech stock born of AIM sector trends.
A decade ago AIM companies developing disruptive ‘clean-technologies’ were riding a bubble. Several had market caps above £250m with technology barely beyond

Zeus Capital have issued a note on ITM, which is normally meant for institutional investors, but can be available by contacting your broker. It apparently gives 'stunning potential possoblities' attached to ITM's products. It's hefty reading though, but exceptionally encouraging. This is what I've heard today. Promising!

The 30K 'sell' is my buy! This will get exciting around Hannover-time I believe, with increased interest & orders. This year has already started with some interesting deals and this year, unlike last year, post Hannover, I believ will really excite. We'll see, where's the M&S fork-lift deal!?! That'll get the masses taking notice!

Letter of Intent signed with German Utility
3 September 2012
ITM Power (AIM: ITM), the energy storage and clean fuel company, is pleased to announce that it has signed a Letter of Intent with one of Germany’s top 10 local utility companies to investigate Power-to-Gas energy storage.
The integration of renewable energies into the existing electricity and gas networks in Germany presents great challenges to energy providers. The collaboration will investigate the potential of energy storage by the production of hydrogen from ITM Power’s rapid response electrolysis equipment and build a plant to test the performance and operation.
Phil Doran, MD, ITM Power GmbH, commented: “This is our first key development in the German utility market and I am delighted that this particular, forward-looking utility has recognised ITM Power’s expertise in the energy storage and clean fuel sector. There are many significant opportunities in Germany including energy storage using hydrogen gas injection into the gas grid and clean fuel provision for captive fleets and road vehicles.”
Dr Graham Cooley, CEO, ITM Power plc added: “As a fully integrated energy company, this utility has a deep understanding of the need for energy storage and maximising the use of renewable power and is perfectly placed to demonstrate the benefits of hydrogen gas grid injection.”

bereits Geld mitgebracht hatte.
Eigentlich soll es aber Geld einspielen. Werde mit Wiedereinstieg noch
warten.

ITM turns up the power

ITM Power has spent seven eventful years as a listed company developing electrolysers for energy storage and clean fuels. It has moved in and out of fashion, but is now actually making sales and chief executive Graham Cooley admits the next 12 months will be "critical" for the company's commercial development.
Its first product range received orders worth £430,000 during April's launch at an industry fair in Hannover - all for trials. Internal forecasts have been increased as have those of broker Nomura Code, which now expects £800,000 of orders by the year-end. Five trials for ITM's transportable high-pressure refueling unit (HFuel) have been completed and the University of Glamorgan has already bought one. HFuel allows electricity companies to convert excess power and store it as hydrogen, while motorists can achieve fuel costs at "parity with petrol".
Germany is seen as an early adopter of ITM's technology and the company is busy developing its business there. There's also interest from potential manufacturing partners in its high-power density fuel cell. The latest full-year results revealed that cash burn was steady at £4.8m, leaving cash of £12.2m. Nomura expects a pre-tax loss of £4.9m in the year to April 2012.
